The pressurized dual seam [testing] method was mentioned earlier in connection with the double-wedge thermal seam method. The air channel that results between the double seam is inflated to approximately 30 lb/in[upperscript 2] for 100 to 200 ft. If no drop in pressure occurs, the seam is acceptable; ...

OBS

The hot wedge or hot knife method consists of an electronically heated resistance element in the shape of a blade that is passed between the two sheets to be sealed. As it melts the surfaces, roller pressure is applied. An interesting variation is the dual-hot-wedge method, which forms two parallel seams with an unbonded space between them. This space is subsequently pressurized with air and any lowering of pressure signifies a leak in the seam.

OBS

DEF

Decatizing : A finishing process in which fabric, wound tightly on a perforated roller, either has hot water circulated through it(wet decatizing) or has steam blown through it(dry decatizing). The process is aimed chiefly at improving the hand and removing wrinkles.

DEF

Decating: Decating improves a fabric’s stability, luster and smoothness. The cloth is wound under tension onto a perforated cylinder and steamed, which produces a wrinkle-free finish. A variation of this process is called semi-decating.

CONT

Dyeing of fabric and printing when accompanied by two or more of the following finishing operations: bleaching, shrinking, fulling, napping, decating ... One or more finishing operations on yarns, fabrics, or other textile articles, such as showerproofing, superwashing, bleaching, decating ... .

French

Domaine(s)
  • Industries du textile
  • Apprêt et traitements divers (Textiles)
DEF

OBS

There are a number of thermal [seaming] methods that can be used on thermoplastic geomembrane materials.... The hot wedge or hot knife method consists of an electrically heated resistance element in the shape of a blade that is passed between the two sheets to be sealed. As it melts the surfaces, roller pressure is applied.

OBS

CONT

Carpet seam roller. Extra wide head spans beyond the hot seam to reduce dishing in the seam area. The stationary roller shaft allows forward and backward motion without altering the carpet back position. Use of the roller will improve hot melt transfer into the carpet back for stronger seams while the star roller blends the carpet yarn for better looking seams.

CONT
