Yamaha's Silent Cinema enables you to enjoy full movie theater-like audio benefits of digital surround at any time of day without causing any disturbance to neighbors or other members of your household. It is made possible by using proprietary Yamaha custom designed LSI(Large Scale Integration) chip sets. These chips utilize a new Cinema DSP(Digital Signal Processing) algorithm for three-dimensional sound based on HRTF(Head Related Transfer Function).

[...] les modèles haut de gamme des récepteurs de cinéma maison de Yamaha, les RX-V1, RX-V800, 1000 et 3000 avaient été dotés d'un circuit breveté produisant des effets baptisés «Silent Cinema». Le nom en soit dit tout : le cinéma silencieux [...] pour l'entourage. Car l'auditeur, lui, ne perd rien. Et, au contraire des autres marques, quand il branche un casque d'écoute, il n'est pas forcé de sacrifier les subtilités des encodages AC3 et DTS, profitant même, s'il le désire, de l'ajout des champs DSP (Digital Signal Processing) aux effets de cinéma, en quantités variant selon le modèle du récepteur.
