1, record 8, French, - acide%20nucl%C3%A9ique%20peptidique

By combining proteins from viruses with inorganic elements commonly used as semiconductors, the UT Austin research team produced hybrid materials called electronic biocomposite materials. Biocomposite materials exist in nature in the form of such substances as shell and bone. By extending the processes that result in naturally occurring biocomposites to substances commonly used in construction of electronic components, the scientists said they are paving the way for development of a host of technological marvels-potential building blocks for transistors, wires, connectors, sensors and computer chips far smaller than anything manufactured so far. 5, record 12, English, - biocomposite

The Positron Microscope was designed and built to be a hybrid instrument capable of performing several types of positrons and electron microscopy. For both electrons and positrons the microscope can be run in one of two modes : magnifying mode in which particles leaving the target are focussed onto a CEMA plate assembly to form a magnified image and scanning mode in which the amplitude of a signal is recorded as a function of the position(and possibly energy) of the incident beam. As an electron microscope the instrument will be able to operate in both magnifying and scanning(SEM) modes. As a positron microscope, however, source considerations will limit its immediate use to magnifying mode, i. e. positron reemission microscopy. 2, record 15, English, - positron%20microscope

Chromosome 5B of bread wheat is known to carry two major genes giving rise to genetic disorders. Nel for hybrid necrosis and Vg for winter variegation. Additionally, in many european winter wheat varieties this chromosome is represented in a translocated form, with 5BL-7BL, 5BL-7BS chromosomes rather than the normal 5B and 7B forms of the standard variety Chinese Spring. Genetic analysis has been carried out to map these genes and the translocation break point, and to investigate their pleiotropic effects or those of linked quantitative trait loci(qtl) for economically important characters... from an abstract found on Dialog. 2, record 16, English, - standard%20variety
