HYDRAULIC BOOST [11 records]

Record 1 2011-10-05

English

Subject field(s)
  • Transformation of Momentum (Mechanical Components)
OBS

the [actuating] shaft, through gearing, rotates two poppet assemblies to shut off the pressure in each hydraulic system, at the same time interconnecting both sides of each piston section of the actuating cylinder when the booster assembly is shifted to boost off operation to prevent hydraulic lock of each piston section.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Transformations de mouvements (Composants mécaniques)
OBS

Subject field(s)
  • Aircraft Systems
CONT

At 0045 : 37, when the airplane was at an altitude of about 3, 000 feet, the captain started the in-range checklist stating, "bypass is down. hydraulic pressure. quantity checks. AC [alternating current] pump is on. green light. fuel panel. boost pumps on. "

OBS

A.C.: Alternating current.

OBS

alternating current: Electric current that reverses direction periodically, usually many times per second.

Key term(s)
  • AC pump

Domaine(s)
  • Circuits des aéronefs
OBS

électropompe : Ensemble d'une pompe rotative et d'un moteur qui en assure l'entraînement.

OBS

alternatif : [Se dit d'un courant] dont l'intensité varie selon une sinusoïde (opposé à continu).

OBS

c.a. : courant alternatif.

Record 3 1997-12-23

English

Subject field(s)
  • Plastics Manufacturing
CONT

The hydraulic injection cylinders are located on each side of the screw or there is a single hydraulic cylinder directly behind the screw. They bring the screw forward, injecting previously melted material into the mold cavity. The injection pressure is maintained for a predetermined length of time. This is called the boost or hold pressure.

Key term(s)
  • boosting pressure

French

Domaine(s)
  • Plasturgie
CONT

Cette pression de maintien définit la force d'ouverture du moule, et, par suite, détermine le nombre possible de cavités pour un objet et un polymère donnés.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Aircraft Propulsion Systems
CONT

Additional loads are automatically shed if an engine is shut down. This additional shedding partially offsets the hydraulic system requirement for additional electrical power to operate the electric demand pump. All cabin indirect ceiling lights, the forward direct ceiling lights and the respective fuel override boost pump are shed.
