In cases in which the violent relationship between the parents involves situational couple violence or separation-instigated violence, there may not be increased risk to children in all cases, particularly if either type of violence is singular and mild. If the situational couple violence is chronic or severe, what is needed is a more nuanced analysis of the situational causes of the violence and whether it is only one or both of the parents who escalate to physical aggression. If one partner has an anger management problem, then he or she is the parent most at risk for child abuse. The world’s first laboratory-grown beef burger was flipped out of a petri dish and into a frying pan on Monday, with food tasters declaring it tasted "close to meat." Grown in vitro from cattle stem cells at a cost of 250,000 euros ($332,000), the burger was cooked and eaten in front of television cameras to gain the greatest media coverage for the culmination of a five-year science experiment. Resembling a standard circular-shaped red meat patty, it was created by knitting together 20,000 strands of laboratory-grown protein, combined with other ingredients normally used in burgers, such as salt, breadcrumbs and egg powder. Red beet juice and saffron were added to give it color. 1, record 14, English, - laboratory%2Dgrown%20beef%20burger

The first laboratory-produced meat patty (cultured beef burger) presented in London on August 5, 2013, by Dr. Mark Post, a physiologist from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, was dubbed the "Frankenburger." The professor and his colleagues produced the meat-like substance by cultivating muscle tissue from cow stem cells in fetal serum and other growth-promoting materials (vitamines, amino acids, growth hormones, sugar, etc.). The laboratory-grown meat at this stage of development is prohibitively expensive, but might one day become a substitute for "real" meat. The product needs to be enhanced to improve its texture, taste and appearance. Some scientists predict that cultured meat might be commercially available within a decade. Others say that it will be possible to grow it in one’s own kitchen within 20 years. 13, record 14, English, - laboratory%2Dgrown%20beef%20burger

The development of meat substitutes is praised on ethical grounds by animal rights or welfare activists since these products have the potential to greatly reduce the inhumane raising and slaughtering of animals raised for meat. Environmentalists, economists and scientists support these products since they might one day be a cost-effective means of meeting world demands for meat, while greatly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and waste, as well as the use of water, farmland and animal feed that make intensive animal farming unsustainable. On the other hand, natural food advocates have serious doubts concerning ingredients needed to grow and enhance these products, and the long term safety of their consumption; and meat industry proponents argue that the technology still requires stem cell donors(the cells from a single donor cannot replicate indefinitely) and that the product remains a far cry from "real" meat. Only time will tell if these products will, in a perhaps not so distant future, entirely replace, or only supplement, the meat industry. 13, record 14, English, - laboratory%2Dgrown%20beef%20burger

cultured beef hamburger: A "hamburger" is a minced beef patty. Terms such as "cultured beef hamburger" could therefore be considered pleonastic. The term "burger" is the shortened form of "hamburger." While burgers are traditionally made of beef, non-beef burgers have become popular, and modifiers such as "veggie," "tuna," "chicken," "nut," and "soya" are used to describe them. Given this relatively new reality, the use of seemingly pleonastic terms such as "cultured beef burger" may be justified. 13, record 14, English, - laboratory%2Dgrown%20beef%20burger

The combination of terms such as "hamburger," "cultured," "laboratory," "in vitro" and their short forms to create neologisms designating this product yields an impressive number of synonyms. synthetic hamburger; artificial hamburger: The terms "synthetic meat" and "artificial meat" designate products that imitate meat but that are not necessarily laboratory-grown from animal cells. On y a ajouté de la chapelure, du sel, de la poudre d'œuf ainsi que du jus de betterave et du safran pour la couleur. Certains scientifiques disent que ce type de produit pourrait être cultivé à la maison d'ici vingt ans. Without this virtual marker, layovers of different strings of traps will be inevitable—and potentially dangerous in deeper waters. This requires development of a robust, affordable trap marker that acquires a GPS position before deployment, and then ideally updates its position by ranging from passing vessels equipped to communicate with the virtually marked traps. Where traps are attached to each other in a string or trawl, traps at each end of the trawl would be marked. An acoustic trap marker would also enable recovery of displaced traps, reducing ghost gear. 1, record 19, English, - acoustic%20trap%20marker

Kielland's forceps [were] originally designed to deliver the fetal head at or above the pelvic brim, lying in the transverse axis of the pelvis and rotating it when it had reached the pelvic cavity. The forceps is used today for rotation and extraction of the head which is arrested in the deep transverse or occipito-posterior position. The blades have very little pelvic curve and are virtually an axis traction forceps. A large episiotomy is needed. The shallowness of the curve allows safe rotation in the vagina. Downward traction encourages rotation of the head. The claw lock allows the blades to slide on each other and correct or encourage synclitism of the fetal head as required. The range of movement allowed by the lock makes it possible to apply lethal compression to the fetal head if the instrument is used improperly 6, record 25, English, - Kjelland%26rsquo%3Bs%20forceps

If the fetus’s head needs to be rotated, there is now a tendency to use manual rotation, rotation with a vacuum extractor, or caesarean section in preference to Kielland’s rotational forceps. This change in practice arose in the 1980s after high rates of neonatal morbidity and mortality were associated with Kielland’s forceps ... Kielland’s forceps are only used for select cases and by experienced obstetricians. 7, record 25, English, - Kjelland%26rsquo%3Bs%20forceps

2, record 35, French, - nodule%20thyro%C3%AFdien

The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association(RCMA) recommends certain procedures for the application of asphalt aluminum roof coatings... When roll or brush-applying an asphalt aluminum, it is important to finish the strokes in basically the same direction to achieve the best aesthetics. If aluminum flakes orient in the same direction, they reflect light more uniformly. Spray equipment is typically an airless sprayer, however any spray unit capable of spraying the coating in an even pattern can be used. Consult the coating or spray equipment manufacturer for proper selection, as the viscosity of the material, the hose internal diameter size, and length of hose all help determine the type of spray equipment needed for the job. 2, record 48, English, - spray%20equipment

Reconstruction : HUD [United States Department of Housing and Urban Development] guidelines regarding reconstruction are as follows : The regulation defines reconstruction as the rebuilding of housing on the same foundation. Therefore, the foundation must be used, if possible. If the building has no foundation or if it is not possible to rebuild on the foundation, then the "foundation" will be the same location as the building that is being reconstructed. Construction of housing on a different portion of the land parcel would be new construction. The reconstructed housing must be substantially similar to the structure that is being replaced, regardless of whether an existing foundation is used(i. e. a single family house must be replaced with a structure containing the same number of units). Rooms may be added to a building outside of the foundation or footprint of the original housing if needed to meet local codes. However, additional units cannot be constructed as part of a reconstruction project. A structure must be present prior to reconstruction. 2, record 50, English, - rebuilding

A hexapod robot is a mechanical vehicle that walks on six legs. Since a robot can be statically stable on three or more legs, a hexapod robot has a great deal of flexibility in how it can move. If legs become disabled, the robot may still be able to walk. Furthermore, not all of the robot's legs are needed for stability; other legs are free to reach new foot placements or manipulate a payload. Many hexapod robots are biologically inspired by Hexapoda locomotion. 2, record 67, French, - robot%20hexapode

Although isotopes exhibit nearly identical electronic and chemical behavior, their nuclear behavior varies dramatically. Atomic nuclei consist of protons and neutrons bound together by the strong nuclear force. Because protons are positively charged, they repel each other. Neutrons, which are electrically neutral, allow some separation between the positively charged protons, reducing the electrostatic repulsion and stabilizing the nucleus. For this reason neutrons are necessary for two or more protons to be bound into a nucleus. As the number of protons increases, additional neutrons are needed to form a stable nucleus; for example, although the neutron/proton ratio of3He is 1/2, the neutron/proton ratio of238U is greater than 3/2. If too many neutrons or too few neutrons are present, the nucleus becomes unstable and subject to nuclear decay. 1, record 73, English, - neutron%2Dproton%20ratio

Interlacing, invented in the 1940s, is probably the earliest form of video compression. Instead of transmitting a complete video frame 60 times every second, engineers discovered that they could halve the bandwidth needed by the TV signal if they sent alternately odd and even "fields", each field comprising just the odd or even picture lines.... When viewed on a progressive display device, such as a PC, two fields are interlaced to create one frame. Because half the frame's lines are captured a fraction of a second later than the other half, fast-moving objects may appear jagged, the result of the object advancing slightly within 1/60th of a second... It is possible to remove the jagged-edge interlace artifacts by applying a process known as "de-interlacing" to the video. 2, record 82, English, - de%2Dinterlace

Another important property for liquids and gases is viscosity. The absolute viscosity(symbol µ) measures the force needed to flow the liquid or gas at a certain speed. High viscosity liquids will require more force to move at some speed than low viscosity liquids. Think of honey(a high viscosity liquid) and water(a low viscosity liquid). If you were to push your hand through a bowl of honey, it would require more force than pushing your hand through a bowl of water(at the same speed). The viscosity decreases with increasing temperature. 2, record 90, English, - high%2Dviscosity%20liquid

Envirocrats are teaming up with industry and governments elsewhere in B. C. and Canada. Last year in Ontario, envirocrats at World Wildlife Fund, the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and the Wildlands League signed the Ontario Forest Accord, one of this century's biggest resource giveaways. The accord effectively delivers most of the province to mining and logging interests, promising, for example, to help sawmills and pulp and paper mills obtain improved access to Crown forests in order to log farther and faster, and endorsing the ever-richer taxpayer subsidies needed to maintain uneconomic resource operations. Working on the public' s behalf, our envirocrats agreed to punish eco-tourist operations that depend on wilderness areas :If tourist operators insist on plying their trade in wooded areas, they will be taxed to compensate forestry companies for the inconvenience of logging elsewhere. 1, record 92, English, - environment%20agency%20bureaucrat

A mixed diet is one in which some of each of a wide variety of foods are eaten in different combinations, every day. Its virtue lies in the fact that an individual who eats that diet over a long time is certain to get everything her body requires under all circumstances. If what is needed is not in one food, it will be in another. If not enough of one nutrient is eaten at breakfast, the deficiency will be made good at lunch. So if your child does eat a good mixed diet, you need not even try to work out how much she needs or is getting of any specific nutrient because day by day and week by week the two will match up... 1, record 94, English, - mixed%20diet
