In 2002, the Canadian Air Carrier Protective Program(CACPP) was introduced. Administered by CATSA at the time(now under the RCMP), the program involves placing in-flight security officers(IFSO) onboard selected flights of Canadian-registered commercial aircraft to protect against unauthorized persons seizing control of an aircraft.

Le Programme de protection des transporteurs aériens canadiens (PPTAC) a été introduit en 2002. Le Programme qui était auparavant géré par l’ACSTA (la GRC en est maintenant responsable), consiste à placer des agents de sûreté à bord (IFSO) de certains vols d’aéronefs commerciaux immatriculés au Canada pour assurer une protection contre les personnes non autorisées qui pourraient prendre le contrôle d’un aéronef.
