Hard rock chromite deposits are normally assigned to one of two classes on the basis of deposit geometry, petrological character, and tectonic setting. Stratiform deposits are sheet-like accumulations of chromite that occur in layered ultramafic to mafic igneous intrusions. Podiform deposits are irregular but fundamentally lenticular chromite-rich bodies that occur within Alpine peridotite or ophiolite complexes. 1, record 11, English, - petrological%20character

1, record 11, French, - caract%C3%A8re%20p%C3%A9trologique

Bauxite deposits are usually large deposits worked in open pits. The largest deposit is that of Sangaredi in Guinea where there is at least 180 Mt forming a plateau up to 30 m thick and averaging 60% alumina.... Classification of bauxite deposits :...

Deposits of Nb, Ta, Be, Zr, and rare earth elements (REE) within alkalic intrusive complexes can be subdivided into two main classes depending on the relationship of mineralization to the surrounding rocks. The first class, igneous deposits, is characterised by restriction of the economic mineralization to specific intrusive units within the complex, and by general lack of obvious zones of alteration surrounding the deposits.
