A form of "nitrocellulose. "Flash Cotton has the advantage of being ignitable by a tiny spark, so it can be used in devices that have a Spark Wheel Assembly as the igniter. Cotton is also excellent as a primer in all devices that use a Glo-Plug as the igniter. Flash Cotton burns up practically instantly, much quicker than Flash Paper, String or Cord.

Papier Flash : Ou papier éclair, est un papier spécialement traité chimiquement pour produire un effet spécial sous la forme d'une grande flamme quand on y met le feu. Il existe également du coton flash ou ouate éclair qui produit le même effet.

Le terme «ficelle» se trouve fréquemment dans des listes de matériel pyrotechnique, en complément des expressions «coton flash» (ou «éclair») et «papier flash» (ou «éclair»). OBS

Two types are manufactured, a fat cord having a nominal burning speed of 1 second per foot and a slow cord having a nominal burning speed of 10 seconds per foot. Both cords possess excellent water resistance and good storage properties and they will withstand a reasonable amount of rough handling. The burning speeds are reliable and consistent even under adverse conditions, as, for example, when burning underwater or in a direction opposite to a strong wind.

... the preferred means of spitting fuse is with Thermalite Igniter Cord. This permits spitting of all fuse in a round by simply lighting the proper end of the igniter cord circuit with a match(or alternate source of heat) or through the use of an Electric Starter.
