CONT

As a result of studies made with rapeseed oil, researchers reported that rapeseed oil methyl esters can be used on diesel engines. It was determined that rapeseed oil methyl ester showed better results than soybean oil methyl ester in terms of emission. In addition, with pre-heating application, the engine torque increased at low engine speeds, CO, HC and smoke density decreased significantly. It was determined that using of rapeseed oil methyl ester shortened the ignition delay period.

CONT

open damper purge. During prepurge, the damper opens to high fire position and the burner motor drives air through the combustion chamber to remove any potentially explosive fuel or fumes. The damper closes to low fire position for ignition trials, and opens again to high fire position for the run period. DEF

The phenomenon which causes a flame to conduct more current in one direction than in the other. It is due to the ionization of air in and around the flame, and to the difference in area of the electrodes in the flame envelope. (The ground area is at least 4 times the area of the flame rod).

CONT

The Pactrol CSA provides automatic ignition control and flame supervision for gas burners... The control provides a short pre-purge period followed by an ignition period, and there is a choice of alternative timings. Flame supervision is by flame rectification, with the option of ultra-violet sensing with the addition of a special UV head. The control will shut-down and provide volatile lock-out following flame-failure or an unsuccessful ignition attempt, and may be reset by interrupting the electrical supply.

DEF

A period of time after burner startup(call for heat) during which the burner motor(blower or fan) runs to change the air of the combustion chamber and breeching prior to ignition trials. This removes any unburned fuel so only the incoming fuel will be present for ignition.

CONT

The programmer controls the sequence of operation as follows: 1. Starts the burner fan so that the furnace, or combustion space, the gas passages of the heat exchanger, and the breeching are purged of any unburned combustible gases. This flow of air is maintained until the entire volume of combustion space, gas passages, and breeching has been changed at least several times. it is commonly called prepurge.

CONT
