The Iliohypogastric Nerve(n. iliohypogastricus) arises from the first lumbar nerve. It emerges from the upper part of the lateral border of the Psoas major, and crosses obliquely in front of the Quadratus lumborum to the iliac crest. It then perforates the posterior part of the Transversus abdominis, near the crest of the ilium, and divides between that muscle and the Obliquus internus abdominis into a lateral and an anterior cutaneous branch. 1, record 14, English, - iliohypogastric%20nerve

A very rare disorder, possibly a variant of osteopoikilosis, characterized by striation of the bones of the skeleton, especially the metaphyses of the long bones, running parallel to the bone axis. The linear, regular bands of increased radiodensity extend from the metaphyses of tubular bones for variable distances into the diaphyses, and are interspersed with areas of rarefaction. In the flat bones, especially the ilium, they radiate in a fan-like arrangement. 2, record 16, English, - osteopathia%20striata

What clinicians loosely refer to as a "bone graft" for reconstruction of the atrophic maxilla really amounts to a marrow transplant. It is aimed at obtaining osteocompetent cells, which are essentially the endosteal osteoblasts from the surface of cancellous bone trabeculae and the cancellous marrow stem-cell population from bone donor sites such as the ilium and tibial plateau. The graft itself contains these osteocompetent cells and islands of mineralized cancellous bone, fibrin from blood clotting, and platelets within the clot. 1, record 20, English, - osteocomptent%20cell
