Iris recognition is based on comparing patterns in the iris - the exterior, visible colored part of the eye. Retinal scans look at the vascular patterns inside the eye found on the retina. In addition, retinal scanning can be overly personal in terms of what is revealed, such as medical conditions and the like.

Hairpin catalytic RNA is a molecule which can be engineered to very efficiently cleave target RNA sequences in a unique and efficient reaction. The catalytic RNA can thus be used for the specific down regulation of gene expression since it can be designed to destroy mRNA. Most Silurian cephalopods had straight shells, called orthocones which were separated inside by walls which formed chambers within the shell. Illinois Central Railroad Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Illinois Central Corporation that is a subsidiary of Canadian National Railway Company. The company operates 2, 600 miles of main line track between Chicago, Illinois and Gulf of Mexico. The track is used primarily for transporting chemicals, coal, paper, grain and milled grain and intermodal trailers and containers.

The Illinois Central is the only major rail carrier in the United States still operating essentially under its own name without interruption after nearly a century-and-a-half since its founding. Trucking has always been the mode of choice for shipping refrigerated product. But with recent developments in technology, the railways are becoming more confident they can measure up as a viable service alternative... A few weeks ago, US-based Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway(BNSF), ran its first all-refrigerated train from Illinois to California. It carried frozen product at a constant temperature for the entire 69-hour trip. There were no re-fuelling stops and so far, no cases of food spoilage... When you put a trailer on a train, there's nobody really looking after it, so if loads go bad or(the units) run out of fuel they don’t notice until it's too late. The difference with the BNSF service is the whole train is refrigerated and therefore gets constant attention.

Last week the National Science Foundation announced that he would be taking charge of one of the new supercomputer centers it is establishing at four U. S. universities. The selected schools-Princeton, Cornell, the University of California at San Diego(UCSD) and the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign-were immediately dubbed the "supercomputer U's. "Their new machines, acquired through a $200 million NSF grant, will be the core of a network connecting some 30 other schools.
