Two current designs of air-cushioned headbox are illustrated in Figures 16-8 and 16-9. These boxes depend on the action of the rotating, perforated rolls to provide turbulence and level out velocity gradients. Shower sprays are arranged to cover the pond and sides of the box. Some older designs... incorporate a reception chamber(also called "swirl chamber" or "explosion chamber") into which the distribution system feeds, followed by an adjustable gap or throat. The gap is important; if too large, the high velocity streams from the inlet pipes will persist; if too small, troublesome vortices(eddy currents) can be created. 1, record 1, English, - swirl%20chamber

1, record 1, French, - chambre%20de%20tourbillonnement

The global atmospheric sulphur budget is illustrated in Fig. 1. It shows that the human(anthropogenic) emission is only a portion of the global emissions. However, this is strongly related to the distribution of industrial activity in the world. Western and central Europe cover only about earth, but they emit about 20 per cent of the total amount of sulphur that originates from anthropogenic sources. 1, record 2, English, - global%20sulphur%20budget

1, record 2, French, - bilan%20global%20du%20soufre
