Area correlation tracking(ACT) is an effective solution for tracking targets that have neither prominent features nor high contrast with the background. The essential step in area correlation tracking is to find the position of best-fit between the reference image of the terrain surrounding the desired target to the real-time scene acquired by an imaging sensor. 1, record 2, English, - area%20correlation%20tracking

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The image processing consisted in generating intensity images and one coherence image. To facilitate their analysis and interpretation, a coloured composition has been created with the results. This composition is obtained by adding the coherence image in red, the average of both images phase intensities in green and the difference between these phase intensities in blue. As such, a high coherence level(value close to 1) appears in red and indicates a very good phase correlation between the two images, a consequence of the various mechanisms of radar signal scattering and of the lack of change which could affect the target. On the contrary, a weak coherence level(value tending to 0) appears in black and indicates a movement in these zones during the 24 hours interval which separated the two image shots. Lastly, the white spots correspond to areas with a strong radar signal backscattering i. e. with zones of hills or vegetation. 3, record 4, English, - colour%20composition

1, record 6, Spanish, - correlador%20%C3%B3ptico

In an interferogram, coherence is a measure of correlation. It can serve as a measure of the quality. [It gives information] as to the surface type(vegetated vs. rock) or [to an] otherwise invisible change that has occurred in the image [visible only in the phase image of an interferogram]. 2, record 7, English, - interferometric%20coherence
Record number: 7, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Such a measure of correlation ranges from 0.0 (where there is no useful information in the interferogram), to 1.0 (where there is no noise in the interferogram). Both extremes are rarely seen, most images lie somewhere in between. Coherence is affected by low slope, surface properties, time lag between passes, baseline and other technical details of the interferogram. 3, record 7, English, - interferometric%20coherence

2, record 7, French, - coh%C3%A9rence%20interf%C3%A9rom%C3%A9trique
