Scanning transmission electron microscopy(STEM) combines the principles of transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy and can be performed on either type of instrument. Like TEM [transmission electron microscopy], STEM requires very thin samples and looks primarily at beam electrons transmitted by the sample. One of its principal advantages over TEM is in enabling the use of other signals that cannot be spatially correlated in TEM, including secondary electrons, scattered beam electrons, characteristic X-rays, and electron energy loss. Like SEM [scanning electron microscopy], the STEM technique scans a very finely focused beam of electrons across the sample in a raster pattern. Interactions between the beam electrons and sample atoms generate a serial signal stream, which is correlated with beam position to build a virtual image in which the signal level at any location in the sample is represented by the gray level at the corresponding location in the image. Its primary advantage over conventional SEM imaging is the improvement in spatial resolution. 3, record 1, English, - scanning%20transmission%20electron%20microscopy

The Canadian Police Canine Association was formed in 1978 by several dog handlers who were interested in seeing how their counterparts were performing in the same job as themselves. The CPCA has grown considerably since those early years, however, our main objectives have remained the same : to promote friendship and brotherhood between all those interested in the training and utilization of the Police Service Dog; to unite and assist Police Departments in the training and continued improvement of Police Service Dogs; to establish and conduct regular “Police Service Dog Trials” for the purpose of establishing levels of proficiency; to provide educational material through publications and a website; to coordinate the exchange of any advanced techniques of training in the utilization of Police Service Dogs; to improve the image of the Police Service Dog to the general public. 2, record 2, English, - Canadian%20Police%20Canine%20Association

An improvement over the first "panoramic" system involved eliminating the rotation of the photographic apparatus, and instead disposing the object to be photographed in front of the objective lens and rotating the object itself. As in a "panoramic" system, the image of the object is recorded on a photographic film which is moved linearly at the same speed as the speed of rotation of the object. Such a system is known as a "periphotographic system". 2, record 4, English, - periphery%20camera%20system
