Scanning laser ophthalmoscopy is an imaging technique that mimics essential features of conventional fundus photography but has better spatial selectivity for the plane of interest in the fundus. Because [a scanning laser ophthalmoscope] picks up information only from a small volume in three-dimensional space at any given time and then reconstructs an image from a three-dimensional scanning array of such points, scatter and fluorescence from the anterior segment of the eye is very effectively rejected. Built on the flying-spot scanner principle, it only illuminates a spot with a diameter of a few micrometers at the fundus and then sweeps the spot across the horizontal and vertical directions of an image plane inside the eye... 8, record 2, English, - scanning%20laser%20ophthalmoscopy

Optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA) is a noninvasive technique that can detect blood flow signal in retinal and choroidal vessels using motion contrast. It compares the decorrelation signal(differences in the backscattered OCT [optical coherence tomography] signal intensity) between sequential OCT B-scans taken at the same cross-section; thus, yielding maps of vascular flow.... Numerous studies described how to automatically detect and classify retinal disorders(e. g., diabetic retinopathy [DR]). However, most of them relied on fundus images rather than on OCT images or OCT angiograms. Recent development in OCTA induced attempts to use advanced image processing in order to extract quantitative information that characterizes the vascular network in the retina from the angiograms. 3, record 3, English, - optical%20coherence%20tomography%20angiogram

The inventors have recognized the benefits of providing an augmented reality system that may be capable of automatically identifying and tracking features within a three-dimensional environment for the purpose of projecting information into the three-dimensional environment to instruct an operator in a specific procedure. In one embodiment, a method for providing an augmented reality includes the steps of : identifying a feature within a three-dimensional environment; projecting first information into the three-dimensional environment; collecting an image of the three-dimensional environment and the projected information; determining at least one of distance and orientation of the feature from the projected first information in the collected image; identifying an object within the three-dimensional environment; and performing markerless tracking of the object. In another embodiment, a method for providing augmented reality includes the steps of : collecting visual information of an environment; identifying a plurality of features within the environment; comparing the plurality of features to a visual signature to identify a situation; performing markerless tracking of the plurality of features; and providing a visual prompt to a user regarding the identified situation. 1, record 4, English, - markerless%20tracking

Smart eyewear is defined as eyewear incorporating a near-to-eye display. As used herein, near-to-eye display means a display, device, or system, such as a retinal projector, virtual retinal display, visualization element, head-mounted display, heads-up display, or other near-to-eye system, typically worn on the head of a user that generates an image near the eye. In a smart eyewear configuration, a display device is often mounted adjacent to an edge of each of the wearer's eyes and an image is typically displayed in the center of each lens. The location of the displayed image, therefore, forces the wearer to gaze in a direction to view the image generated by the display. Typically positioned near the user's eye, the display is aligned to the central region of the user's field of view to allow review of the displayed information with little or no head movement. This enables the user to view the display while also viewing the area outside the central region and interacting with the surrounding environment. In another embodiment, the displayed image is aligned to a region other than the central region of the user's field of view. 5, record 5, English, - near%2Dto%2Deye%20display

Near-eye display devices are configured to present images to a user via a display that is positioned close to the user’s eyes. For example, a head-mounted augmented reality display device may be worn on a user’s head to position a near-eye display directly in front of a user’s eyes. A near-eye display may be at least partially see-through to allow a user to view a real-world background in combination with displayed virtual objects. This may allow virtual objects to be displayed such that the virtual objects appear to exist within the real-world environment. 6, record 5, English, - near%2Dto%2Deye%20display

With the evolution of digital technologies over the years, solutions to record, store, and organize a lifetime of information and knowledge have become possible... However, the amount of information available to be stored and processed today is difficult to analyze and retrieve. To overcome this problem, a wide range of research fields can be explored, such as image and information retrieval, knowledge extraction, image understanding, sentiment analysis, and data mining just to name a few, which provide solutions to organize, process, and retrieve personal data. These personal data are also named as lifelogs and can be used as surrogate memory within a lifelogging system capable of organizing and managing these lifelogs... Therefore, the extraction of relevant information from personal lifelogs can be used to improve the quality of everyday life for people with memory problems or even used as a digital diary. 1, record 8, English, - lifelog

High brightness, short pulse width(<200 picoseconds) x-ray lasers now offer biologists the possibility of high-resolution imaging of specimens in an aqueous environment without the blurring effects associated with natural motion or chemical erosion. As a step toward developing the capabilities of this type of x-ray microscopy, a tantalum x-ray laser at a 44. 83-angstrom wavelength was used together with an x-ray zone plate optic to image both unlabeled and selectively gold-labeled dried rat sperm nuclei. In the image, 500-angstrom features are clearly visible. This illustrates the importance of x-ray microscopy in determining chemical composition. Single Particle Analysis is a group of related computerized image processing techniques used to analyze images from transmission electron microscopy(TEM). These methods were developed to improve and extend the information obtainable from TEM images of particulate samples, typically proteins or other large biological entities such as viruses. Individual images of stained or unstained particles are very noisy, and so hard to interpret. Combining several digitized images of similar particles together gives an image with stronger and more easily interpretable features. An extension of this technique uses single particle methods to build up a three dimensional reconstruction of the particle. 1, record 42, English, - single%20particle%20analysis

Elaborative rehearsal is a more active process that involves elaborating on the new incoming information in some way. Elaboration may consist of making associations between the new information and what one already knows, creating a mental image of the new information, recoding information in some way such as taking notes on a chapter while reading it, or creating some mnemonic device that helps memory of the information. 3, record 58, English, - elaborative%20rehearsal

The primary purpose of a stall guard is indeed to keep the horse from coming out of the stall. The stall guard or chain may be used to keep the animal in a stall for a short period or long time period.... However, utilizing stall guards and chains instead of solid stall doors will help to improve the air circulation in the barn. The guard is also easier to adjust to the individual horse than a solid or Dutch door would be. Providing a stall with a stall guard that allows a horse to look out may calm a nervous horse... Horses are usually social creatures, preferring to be in larger groups. Being able to look out of the stall and see other horses will be reassuring to the horse.... In addition, the stall guard can assist in training a horse.... Another use for stall guards is to display information or to make a show barn look classier. Owners of show horses or race horses frequently have stall guards customized with their logos and stable colors to enhance their business image.... Stall guards may also be used as a temporary method of separating horses from each other. For instance, a solid stall guard can be used in a stock trailer to separate a mother from her foal while traveling. 2, record 63, English, - stall%20guard

However, it will create a digital file which is considerably larger than a "Path Image" product. 3, record 70, English, - %5C%22Path%20Image%5C%22%20product

Overview of resampling methods. From the perspective of space, a satellite camera or sensor takes images that provide unique Earth information at scales ranging from very small to very large. To better understand an image, its shape, scale and perspective often are changed by rectification, orthorectification or map projection to relate it to real world coordinates. During that process, however, gaps between pixels may form, requiring that images be resampled to fill in those missing pixels. There are basically 3 methods of resampling : nearest neighbor, bilinear interpolation and cubic convolution. 4, record 71, English, - resampling

1, record 75, French, - signal%20radar%20brut

It is generally found that natural objects possess self-similarity and self-affinity in their structures. Fractal analysis, a technique based on these properties, has been widely used in various research applications. In the active remote sensing of the earth terrain, it is possible to extract this fractal information from the images obtained. In this application, fractal surface dimension, an important parameter in fractal analysis, can be employed as an additional feature to classify different landuse areas. This fractal surface dimension is generally related to the roughness of the surface. By keeping the x and y coordinates of the pixels of the image, and taking the grey level of each pixel as its z coordinate, a three-dimensional surface can be constructed. The calculation of fractal surface dimension can then be carried out on that surface. 2, record 78, English, - fractal%20analysis

1, record 80, French, - recueil%20des%20communications%20sur%20la%20LMFP

"Path Image Plus" uses smaller pixel spacing than "Path Image" to retain full RADARSAT beam mode resolution. This will enhance your ability to make detailed analyses of point targets(e. g., ships, isolated buildings), linear features(e. g., pipelines, drainage networks), or to obtain subsequent spatial information if required. However, it will create a digital file that is considerably larger than a "Path Image" product. Generally speaking, image quality evaluation has something to do with the purpose of the image. Image quality has two implications : fidelity and intelligibility. The former describes how the reconstructed image differs from the original one, with mean-square-error as a typical example, and the latter shows the ability through which the image can offer information to people, with classification-accuracy as a typical example. Both are foundamental in measuring the image quality. 4, record 83, English, - image%20quality

The production of hydrocarbon reservoirs, the exploitation of hydrothermal fields and mining activity in general are associated with microseismicity. Changes of the local stress fields and pore pressure can initiate sudden movements along existing faults or can generate new fractures which in turn result in the emission of seismic energy. Monitoring and analyses of microseismic events have the potential to delineate the internal structure of the subsurface, to obtain information on the present stress conditions and to image dynamic processes like subsidence and fluid flow. 3, record 84, English, - microseismic%20monitoring

Envisat's ASAR [Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar] instrument is the first permanent spaceborne radar to incorporate dual-polarisation capabilities-the instrument can transmit and receive signals in either horizontal or vertical polarisation. This Alternating Polarisation(AP) mode can improve the capability of a SAR instrument to classify different types of terrain. Because the reflective properties of a surface are dependant on the polarisation of the incoming radar signal, the use of more than one type of polarisation provides valuable extra information. The ASAR AP mode provides two simultaneous images(or channels) of the same scene taken with different radar polarisation options. Since the radar can transmit and receive in both the horizontal(H) and vertical(V) polarisations, researchers can create image pairs, with possible combinations, HH&VV... HH&HV and VV&VH. A cross-polarisation option employs a channel in which the polarisation signal transmitted by the spacecraft is received on a different polarisation, i. e. transmitted using a horizontal polarisation and received on the vertical for an HV combination, or the reverse for a VH combination. 3, record 91, English, - advanced%20synthetic%20aperture%20radar
