Fading and speckle are the inherent "noise-like" processes which degrade the quality of an image.... Reflecting surfaces are rarely uniform. For example, even a homogeneous forest has variations in the shape, height and variation of its canopy. These small differences cause local tonal variations which are known as speckle.... Thus, speckle is essentially an image texture arising from the system, and not from the scene. 2, record 4, English, - speckle

Enhanced LEE filter was modified by Lopes. He proposed to divide an image into areas of three classes. The first class corresponds to the homogeneous areas in which the speckles may be eliminated simply by applying an LP filter(or equivalently, averaging, multi-look processing). The second class corresponds to the heterogeneous areas in which the speckles are to be reduced while preserving texture and the third class [refers to] areas containing isolated point targets... 3, record 13, French, - trame

Bilinear filtering is a method of anti-aliasing texture maps. A texture-aliening artifact occurs due to sampling on a finite pixel grid. Point-sampled telexes jump from one pixel to another at random times. This aliening is very noticeable on slowly rotating or moving polygons. The texture image jumps and shears along pixel boundaries. To eliminate this problem, bilinear filtering takes a weighted average of four adjacent texture pixels to create a single telex. 1, record 14, English, - bilinear%20filtering

1, record 14, French, - filtrage%20bilin%C3%A9aire
