Media Watch is a national, volunteer feminist organization working to eliminate sexism in the media, by transforming the media environment from one in which women are either invisible or stereotyped, to one in which women are realistically portrayed and equitably represented in all our physical, economic, racial and cultural diversity. These changes are fundamental to altering the current social climate in which gender inequality and violence against women are pervasive. The organization promote change by educating media industries, government and the public, conducting research, and encouraging consumer advocacy.

Film produced in 1990 by the National Film Board. This film helps us come to terms with the murder of 14 women at an engineering school in Montreal. It deals with how these murders relate to the larger picture of male violence that confronts women on the streets and even in their own homes. The haunting images taken on the day of the massacre and in the days following set the stage for an exploration of the issues of misogyny, male violence and sexism.

Nathalie Provost a survécu à la fusillade. Aujourd'hui, avec des amis, elle parle du drame et du féminisme, du racisme et du sexisme, des difficultés de la société à accepter les différences et surtout, de la vie qui continue au-delà du 6 décembre.
