Scanning laser ophthalmoscopy is an imaging technique that mimics essential features of conventional fundus photography but has better spatial selectivity for the plane of interest in the fundus. Because [a scanning laser ophthalmoscope] picks up information only from a small volume in three-dimensional space at any given time and then reconstructs an image from a three-dimensional scanning array of such points, scatter and fluorescence from the anterior segment of the eye is very effectively rejected. Built on the flying-spot scanner principle, it only illuminates a spot with a diameter of a few micrometers at the fundus and then sweeps the spot across the horizontal and vertical directions of an image plane inside the eye... 8, record 1, English, - scanning%20laser%20ophthalmoscopy

2, record 8, French, - capteur%20%C3%A0%20barrettes

[The] push-broom scanner [is a] type of imaging system... commonly used in optical remote sensing satellites such as SPOT. The imaging system has a linear detector array(usually of the CCD type) consisting of a number of detector elements(6000 elements in SPOT HRV). Each detector element projects an "instantaneous field of view(IFOV) "on the ground. The signal recorded by a detector element is proportional to the total radiation collected within its IFOV. At any instant, a row of pixels are formed. As the detector array flies along its track, the row of pixels sweeps along to generate a two-dimensional image. 2, record 9, English, - linear%20detector%20array

Indiana University Laboratory for Spectrochemistry. Plasma Source Mass Spectrometry. "Single-Crystal Scintillator-Based Array Detector for Sector-Field Mass Spectrometry, "[by] David A. Solyom. Beginning with the use of photographic plates in the first quarter of this century, array detectors have had a long history of usage in mass-spectrometric analysis. Array detectors are position-sensitive devices capable of independently measuring ion signals that are incident at different locations on the detector's face. Currently popular among the different types of array detectors available for mass spectrometry are microchannel-plate(s)(MCP) coupled with a phosphor.... The electrons emitted from the rear of the MCP strike the phosphor being held in close proximity(1mm) to the MCP. The phosphor screen is sensitive to the incident electrons and will emit photons in response. The number of emitted photons is proportional to the number of incident electrons and the location on the phosphor from which the photons are emitted coincides with the location of the incident electrons. The photons from the phosphor can then be converted into a proportional electronic signal by an imaging device such as a CCD or CID detector array. 2, record 11, English, - sector%20field%20mass%20spectrometry

The Vision Skin sensor is designed to do accurate range sensing and close range imaging in approximately the 1 cm distance range. It utilizes an array of collimated holes as individual parallel pin-hole cameras to perform close range lens-less imaging. When a laser diode is added to the system, triangulation is used to determine the distance of the surface. The sensor can switch between imaging mode and range mode simply with software and lighting control. 2, record 15, English, - Vision%20Skin%20sensor
