The SPOT satellites each have twin high resolution visible(HRV) imaging systems, which can be operated independently and simultaneously. Each HRV is capable of sensing either in a high spatial resolution single-channel panchromatic(PLA) mode, or a coarser spatial resolution three-channel multispectral(MLA) mode. Each along-track scanning HRV sensor consists of four linear arrays of detectors : one 6000 element array for the panchromatic mode recording at a spatial resolution of 10 m, and one 3000 element array for each of the three multispectral bands, recording at 20 m spatial resolution. The swath width for both modes is 60 km at nadir. 5, record 1, English, - high%2Dresolution%20visible

6, record 1, French, - haute%20r%C3%A9solution%20visible

The angle defined by the incident radar beam and the vertical (normal) to the intercepting surface. 3, record 2, English, - incidence%20angle
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The incidence angle is commonly used to describe the angular relationship between the radar beam and the ground, surface layer or a target. A change of the radar illumination angle often affects the radar backscattering behaviour of a surface or target. The incidence angle changes across the radar image swath; it increases from near range to far range. In the case of satellite radar imagery, the change of incidence angle for flat terrain across the imaging swath tends to be rather small, usually on the order of several degrees. In the case of an inclined surface(slope), the local incidence angle is defined as the angle between the incident radar beam and a line that is normal to that surface. The local incidence angle determining, in part, the brightness, or image tone, for each picture element(pixel) and slope facet, is a key element in the prominent rendition of terrain features in radar imagery. 3, record 2, English, - incidence%20angle

[The] push-broom scanner [is a] type of imaging system... commonly used in optical remote sensing satellites such as SPOT. The imaging system has a linear detector array(usually of the CCD type) consisting of a number of detector elements(6000 elements in SPOT HRV). Each detector element projects an "instantaneous field of view(IFOV) "on the ground. The signal recorded by a detector element is proportional to the total radiation collected within its IFOV. At any instant, a row of pixels are formed. As the detector array flies along its track, the row of pixels sweeps along to generate a two-dimensional image. 2, record 3, English, - linear%20detector%20array

This paper presents a simple and effective method for matching two uncalibrated images. Corner points are firstly extracted as interest points in the two images. Each interest point is assigned one dominant orientation. The initial set of point matches is then obtained by singular value decomposition of a correspondence strength matrix. A new expression of this matrix is introduced to handle more complicated imaging conditions. Each element of this matrix is the similarity measure between two interest points. The new similarity measure is invariant to image rotation by taking into account the dominant orientation of the two interest points. The epipolar geometry constraint is finally imposed to reject the false matches. Experimental results on real images show this approach to be effective for general image matching. 4, record 4, English, - singular%20value%20decomposition
