Record 1 2023-01-31

English

Subject field(s)
  • Welding and Soldering (Metals)
  • Printed Circuits and Microelectronics
DEF

Soldering of printed circuit boards by moving them over a flowing wave of molten solder in a solder bath ...

CONT

Flow soldering is a technique used to bulk solder components onto a printed circuit board. This process is typically used when a single sided [printed circuit board] has a medium to high number of conventional or through-hole components. This process is also often referred to as "wave soldering" because of the wave-like motion the molten solder takes when applied to the [printed circuit board]. The circuit board is passed over a bath of molten solder in which a pump produces an upwelling of solder that looks like a standing wave. As the circuit board makes contact with this wave, the components become soldered to the board.

OBS

... the process permits precise control of the depth of immersion in the molten solder and minimizes heating of the board.

DEF

  • Seafood and Freshwater Food (Food Industries)
CONT

so-called marine beef-like fish flesh obtained by removing lipids and water from fish flesh to finish into a granular dried product. A developed food material which is superior to FPC [fish protein concentrate], which is compatible with water and which provides meat-like mouthfeel is marine beef. A process for producing marine beef comprises raw fish deboning, preparation and kneading, chopping, alcohol immersion and drying steps. The marine beef products are powders having a moisture content of about 8% or below. When this marine beef is used in combination with fishes and shellfishes, it absorbs the moisture of the fishes and shellfishes and thus the moisture content of the surimi paste is suitably adjusted.

Subject field(s)
  • Plating of Metals
CONT

The key to plating mechanically finished and cleaned die castings is the nickel strike. The nickel strike is prepared in two steps using an alkaline electroless nickel bath. The first step uses the electroless nickel additive containing the nickel and complexors but not the reducing agent. This step provides a semi-bright nickel immersion layer that protects the zinc part from the more aggressive electroless nickel plating process to follow.
