IMNM can present much like polymyositis and causes muscle cell death (necrosis) that leads to weakness of the skeletal muscles on both sides of the body (symmetrical), commonly those closest to the body’s core (proximal), such as the hips, thighs, upper arms, shoulders, and neck. ... Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis is an uncommon acute inflammatory disease of the CNS which occurs following viral infections or vaccination. ADEM is thought to be immune mediated. Brain and spinal cord involvement is usually widespread but may at times be limited to discrete areas such as the optic nerves or a single spinal cord level. Various names have been used to describe this syndrome but the term ADEM is appropriately descriptive. 2, record 2, English, - acute%20disseminated%20encephalomyelitis

Erythema multiforme is an immunologic reaction in the skin and mucous membranes often mediated by circulating immune complexes that evolve in response to a number of antigenic stimulae(infections, drugs, connective tissue disease). As the name implies, the skin reaction is characterized by a variety of lesions, namely, erythematous plaques, blisters, and target or bull' s-eye lesions. The mucous membranes of the mouth and eye may also be involved, and this is referred to as Stevens-Johnson syndrome. 1, record 4, English, - Stevens%2DJohnson%20syndrome

Baudouin et al.(1992) assessed the possible ocular-protective effect of Ginkgo extract(EGb761) in rabbits. A model of periretinal proliferation was used to simulate retinal detachment by means of an immunologically-mediated inflammatory reaction, which in turn stimulated intra-ocular growth of vitreous stands. Their test followed observations of a possible immunologically-mediated activation of cell proliferation which they observed in specimens from human cases of periretinal proliferative disorders, which are the main cause of retinal-origin blindness. The researchers also found evidence of intravitreal macrophages and lymphocytes in the rabbits, indicating an immune-mdiated inflammatory response involved in the pathological state induced, and hypothesized in the etiology of proliferative retinal diseases in humans. 1, record 6, English, - immunologically%2Dmediated%20inflammatory%20reaction

Activation of macrophages by bacterial lipopolysaccharide(LPS) induces transcription of genes that encode for proinflammatory regulators of the immune response. Previous work has suggested that activation of the transcription factor activator protein 1(AP-1) is one LPS-induced event that mediates this response. Consistent with this notion, we found that LPS stimulated AP-1-mediated transcription of a transfected reporter gene in the murine macrophage cell line RAW 264. 7. As AP-1 activity is regulated in part by activation of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK), which phosphorylates and subsequently increases the transcriptional activity of c-Jun, we examined whether LPS treatment of macrophages resulted in activation of this kinase. 3, record 9, English, - jun%20N%2Dterminal%20kinase
