The significance of mixed chimerism has been well studied in the later post-transplant period. By this stage, the immunological events giving rise to graft-versus-host disease, graft-versus-leukemia or graft rejection may be confused by inability to distinguish between mature T-cells infused with the graft and stem cell derived T-cells that are tolerant to host antigens. 3, record 3, English, - graft%20versus%20leukemia

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
In 1955, Barnes and Loutit first described graft versus host disease(GVHD) in mice. Simonsen introduced the term graft-versus-host reaction in 1958 to describe the direction of the immunological damage caused by introduction of immunologically competent cells into an immunocompromised host. In 1966, Billingham proposed 3 conditions required for the development of GVHD, as follows :(1) the graft must contain immunologically competent cells,(2) the host must possess important transplant alloantigens that are lacking in the donor graft so that the host appears foreign to the graft, and(3) the host itself must be incapable of mounting an effective immunological reaction against the graft. According to the accepted definition, the immunologic assault itself and its consequences are referred to as GVHD. 3, record 4, English, - graft%20versus%20host%20disease

For the past 8 years, May 12 has been the International Awareness Day for Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases. These diseases include chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. May 12 was selected as the day to bring attention to these conditions since it is Florence Nightingale's birthday. Most people know her as the founder of modern nursing but few know that she spent most of the last half of her life confined to her home suffering from a disease similar to what we now call chronic fatigue syndrome. 1, record 5, English, - International%20Awareness%20Day%20for%20Chronic%20Immunological%20and%20Neurological%20Diseases

1, record 5, French, - Journ%C3%A9e%20internationale%20de%20sensibilisation%20aux%20maladies%20immunologiques%20et%20neurologiques%20chroniques

[The anti-pregnancy vaccine] works by vaccinating against the female pregnancy hormone HCG(human chorionic gonadotrophin) which is produced by the fertilized egg just after conception.... The term vaccination is a misnomer. Vaccines against disease work by stimulating and increasing the body's ability to defend itself against a specific germ.... Pregnancy, however, is not a disease. In effect, the anti-fertility "vaccine" mimics an immunological disorder... 2, record 6, English, - anti%2Dpregnancy%20hormone%20injection

Eosinophilic pneumonia. Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis is just one example of a number of disorders in which there is pulmonary disease in association with tissue and/or blood eosinophilia.... A number of immunological and other mechanisms are probably involved in these reactions. Where eosinophilic pneumonia is associated with parasite infestation, type I reactions are often suggested by a massive rise in total IgE, but in other cases(e. g. Loeffler's syndrome) the mechanism is obscure. 1, record 8, English, - eosinophilic%20pneumonia
