Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
It is the centre line of an area known as the wind cone, within which a parachutist must remain if he is to land on the desired point of impact. The radius of the wind cone varies with the forward speed of the canopy and the height AGL. The wind cone radius for the CT-2 canopy at 305 m is approximately 100 to 175 metres. It should be noted that the wind cone will not necessarily be a straight line, as it is affected by the changes in wind speed and direction at the various altitudes through which it passes. 1, record 2, English, - wind%20line

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1, record 2, French, - ligne%20du%20vent

In screw-type flaring, the first three steps are the same as for impact flaring, namely, the tube cut to length and all burrs removed, and the coupling nut is then slipped over the end of the tube. The tube is clamped in the flaring bar so that the end of the tube is slightly above the face of the bar.... The yoke of the flaring tool is placed on the bar so that the bevelled end of the compressor cone is over the tube end. The compressor screw is tightened down forming the flare between the chamfer of the flaring bar and the bevelled compressor cone. The flaring tool is then removed and the joint assembled in the same manner as described under impact flaring. 1, record 4, English, - screw%2Dtype%20flaring

1, record 4, French, - %C3%A9vasement%20par%20vissage

Cone penetration impact test... test in which a cone is dropped from a specified height into a horizontally held fabric specimen contained in a 6-inch-diameter California bearing ratio(CBR) mold. The size of the resulting hole is measured and qualitatively rated from one fabric to another. The test attempts to simulate the dropping of stone subbase directly on fabric. Though not an ideal test, it typifies attempts being made to assess impact resistance of construction fabrics. 3, record 5, English, - California%20bearing%20ratio%20mold
