The Association of Public Sector Information Professionals(DPI), is a volunteer not-for profit Canadian federal organization. We promote the development of public sector professionals and the effective application of Information Management and Technology(IM/IT) in the Federal Government of Canada and other public sector jurisdictions. This knowledge serves to influence the greater information management(IM) and the information technology(IT) communities through the application of shared best practices. As enablers of many services offered to Canadians, the impact is felt there too. With out the time and dedication of our volunteers throughout the year, DPI and PDW would not exist. Some of our volunteers work behind the scences throughout the year, developing and promoting DPI and PDW. 2, record 5, English, - Association%20of%20Public%20Sector%20Information%20Professionals

Cross-age teaching engages teens as teachers for pre-teens or younger children, typically in non-formal educational settings. In many communities, cross-age teaching has been a useful strategy to influence and educate younger youth. Preadolescents and young children look up to and want to emulate teenagers. Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. This paper discusses the tension between risk taking and innovation, and the impact of values and organizational culture on both. The paper deals with five different types of innovation. It addresses the question of reasonable risk taking in which managers need to engage in order to make their organizations more innovative, and to sustain that innovation. It then explores the extent to which public service culture, values and rules influence risk-taking and thereby innovation. The paper concludes with suggested steps that can be taken to develop guidance for risk management and thereby fostering a culture of continuous innovation. 1, record 12, English, - Risk%2C%20Innovation%20and%20Values%20%2D%20Examining%20the%20Tensions

2, record 14, French, - Profils%20de%20la%20charge%20de%20consommation%20d%27%C3%A9nergie%20et%20d%27eau%20dans%20les%20collectifs%20d%27habitation

The Human Resources Council(HRC) was founded in 1992 as the Personnel Renewal Council(PRC), to be a strong voice for Heads of Human Resources and the HR community on issues affecting the strategic direction of HR management in the Public Service. The PRC changed its name to the Human Resources Council in November 1998. The HRC will continue to strengthen its current role as an independent strategic advisor. Specifically, the HRC will work to influence the direction of, and provide support to, the Central Agencies on the development of HR policy and the development of the HR Community on major issues of concern. In fulfilling this role, the HRC will identify HR management's needs and the operational impact of Central Agency HR policy initiatives and approaches on service delivery to Canadians and on the delivery of HR services within departments, agencies and separate employers, including advising Central Agencies whenever capacity issues need to be addressed or taken into account. The HRC will selectively address key elements of the HR framework and key strategic issues affecting the HR function, in accordance with the HRC vision and strategic agenda, which it will set annually in partnership with Central Agencies. The HRC will act as a driver and influencer. 1, record 15, English, - Human%20Resources%20Council

1, record 15, French, - Conseil%20des%20ressources%20humaines

Personal Health Practices and Coping Skills refer to those actions by which individuals can prevent diseases and promote self-care, cope with challenges, and develop self-reliance, solve problems and make choices that enhance health, but also the influence of social, economic, and environmental factors on the decisions people make about their health. There is a growing recognition that personal life "choices" are greatly influenced by the socioeconomic environments in which people live, learn, work and play. These influences impact lifestyle choice through at least five relationships and belonging, and a sense of control. Interventions that support the creation of supportive environments will enhance the capacity of individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices in a world where many choices are possible. 1, record 16, English, - Determinant%20of%20Health%207%20%2D%20Personal%20Health%20Practices%20and%20Coping%20Skills
