Sensitivity testing typically involves an incremental change in a risk factor(or a limited number of risk factors). It is typically conducted over a shorter time horizon, for example an instantaneous shock. Sensitivity testing requires fewer resources than scenario testing and can be used as a simpler technique for assessing the impact of a change in risks when a quick response or when more frequent results are needed. 1, record 1, English, - sensitivity%20testing

1, record 1, French, - analyse%20de%20sensibilit%C3%A9

The present work aims at trying out Acoustic Impact Technique as a possible means of deployment at field level for the purpose of flaw detection in composite helicopter blades. The principle underlying Acoustic Impact Testing is simple. The sound produced when a structure is tapped is mainly at the frequencies of major structural modes of vibration, which are structural properties. Any difference in the sound is necessarily due to modification affected to the force input by the defect in the structure. A study of the force time history of response or its fast fourier transform makes it possible to locate and detect sub surface flaws. 3, record 4, English, - acoustic%20impact%20technique

In addition to environmental conditions during the operations on the surface of Mars the MIDD will have to be able to sustain the loads which occur prior to deployment from the lander. Since recent and currently studied designs for Mars landers in many cases use a "semi-hard" landing technique, the shock incurred during impact on the surface becomes the driver for sizing and qualification of components rather than the launch loads or the quasistatic loads during entry into the martian atmosphere. The MARS PATHFINDER lander, being the most prominent example of a semi-hard lander since it is the only one thus far having been built and flown, experienced an actual impact velocity of 18 m/s and a maximum deceleration(first bounce) of around 18 g, both values being lower than the hardware had been designed for. 2, record 5, English, - semi%2Dhard%20lander

Bench Method. Whichever hauling equipment or technique you choose, you must get as close as possible to the trunks to be loaded or bring them as close as possible to the trail to facilitate loading. The bench method can enable you, with reasonable effort, to bring the felled trees manually to within a 10-metre radius of the track. This method consists in creating a workbench from the felled trees themselves. It enables you to work with your back straight and to move the trunks without unreasonable effort. The first tree is felled and prepared so as to act as a support for other trees that will be felled on top of it. It must be quite steady, since the impact and weight of felled trees can crush the support and make it less useful. 1, record 6, English, - bench%20method

1, record 6, French, - m%C3%A9thode%20de%20l%27%C3%A9tabli

Surfacing is a term used to describe processes of depositing metal on surfaces of tools and machine parts in order to increase their dimensional sizes or to obtain some specific mechanical property.... The two main categories of surfacing are known as hardfacing and metallizing. Hardfacing is a fusion technique and includes processes which are designed to produce hard, tough overlays to resist severe abrasion, corrosion, and impact loads. Metallizing is a spray coating procedure where finely divided particles of metal are deposited on surfaces where metal has worn away or where it is necessary to build up certain contours. Hardfacing is actually a fusion weld process in which a special hardfacing rod, wire, or electrode is intermixed with the base metal. 1, record 7, English, - hardfacing
