4, record 4, French, - impact

Abomasal impaction. Impaction of the abomasum develops in pregnant beef cows during cold winter months when cattle have decreased water intake and are fed poor-quality roughage. It also has been seen in feedlot cattle fed a variety of mixed rations containing chopped or ground roughage(straw, hay) and cereal grains and in late-pregnancy dairy cows on similar feeds. Complete anorexia, scant feces, moderate distention of the abdomen, weight loss, and weakness are usually the initial signs. Body temperature is usually normal but may be subnormal during cold weather. A mucoid nasal discharge tends to collect at the external nares and on the muzzle; the muzzle is usually dry and cracked due to the failure of the animal to lick its nostrils and to the effects of dehydration. The heart rate may be increased, and mild dehydration is common. 2, record 6, English, - abomasal%20impaction

These forceps, called ostagra by the Greeks, were specifically used on bones. Paul of Aegina described one of their uses :"If the bone is strong it is first to be perforated with the drills called abaptista and the fractured bone is to be removed in fragments, with the fingers if possible, if not, with a tooth forceps or bone forceps. "Soranus of Ephesus, who lived in the reign of Trajan(A. D. 97-118) used bone forceps to remove pieces of the skull after impaction of the foetal cranium. Bone forceps may also have been used for extraction of arrow or lance heads from wounds; the grips on the tips of the forceps would make grasping such objects easier. 3, record 9, English, - bone%20forceps

4, record 9, French, - pince%20%C3%A0%20os
