The iESSP 2 Project is a "multi-country project" whose aim is to play a role in improving the health of West-african populations through efficient and sustainable reinforcement of endemoepidemic control mechanisms. Its overall objective is to provide technical and financial support to six countries of this region(Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, and Niger), strengthening their epidemiological surveillance capabilities. This project will take place over a period of four and a half years(2003-2007). As with preceding projects(ESSP/1991-1998, and iESSP/1998-2002), these countries will receive ongoing support to implement their HIV/AIDS integrated surveillance strategies. Project implementation will follow CCISD(Centre de coopération internationale en santé et développement) result-based indicators and CIDA(Canadian International Development Agency) orientation policies.

This is a carefully documented, multi-year pilot project evaluation concerning the development and implementation of a coordinated service referral system for parents and newborns in eight health and social service centres in Montreal. The origin of the project was an inquest in 1985 into the death of an infant due to parental neglect; it recommended better information sharing among service providers in order to support families during the perinatal period. The document was published in 1991 by the Comité régional famille-enfance.

The two Governments entrusted the Secretary-General of the United Nations with organizing and conducting a popular consultation in order to ascertain whether the East Timorese people accepted or rejected a special autonomy for East Timor within the unitary Republic of Indonesia. To carry out the consultation, the Security Council established the United Nations Mission in East Timor(UNAMET) on June 1999. The 5 May agreements stipulated that, after the vote, UNAMET would oversee a transition period pending implementation of the decision of the East Timorese people.

Of the ministère des Transports of Québec. This policy deals with the selection of pavement types. It covers a five-year period and is a core component of our road system management policy. Comprehensive in approach rather than project-based, it set outs the most appropriate types of pavement for roads under the Department's jurisdiction. The analysis methodology it stipulates is a thorough, proven approach based on consistent, verifiable parameters and a transparent development process throughout. The new policy, which replaces the Policy on the Construction and Maintenance of Cement Concrete pavements in force since 1995, allows greater consideration of new technologies and road work requirements through its integrated approach under a comprehensive Québec pavement management framework. Implementation of this policy must fit with road work planning strategies and the Department's financial capabilities. In drawing up this new policy, the Department met with representatives of the concrete and asphalt industries as well as the Association des constructeurs de routes et grands travaux du Québec(Québec' s road builders’ association) in order to take their views into account.

Of the McGill University-Université de Montréal Research Group on Integrated Services for Older Persons. SIPA Research Program(System of Integrated Services for the Frail Elderly). SIPA is a demonstration and evaluation project based on a model of integrated care for the frail elderly. The demonstration project aimed to implement a model for the frail elderly living in the community and to evaluate by means of an experimental device, its comparative advantage in regards to existing services in Montreal. The evaluation was on impact on health, utilization of services, cost of services, quality of care and the implementation and organization of services. The SIPA project was carried out on the Island of Montreal over a period of 22 months from 1999 to 2001. The SIPA s goals were to : respond appropriately to the needs of older persons with disabilities; maintain and promote the independence and capacity of older persons to make choices, while respecting their dignity; and optimize the use of community, hospital and institutional resources.
