Small Island Developing States Network(SIDSnet) is a direct follow-up to the 1994 Barbados Programme of Action(BPoA). SIDSnet connects 43 Small Island Developing States(SIDS) in the Pacific, Caribbean, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and African island nations. SIDSnet's main goal has been to utilise information and communication technologies(ICTs) to link SIDS in supporting the implementation of the sustainable development objectives of the BPoA. The project was launched in 1998 through UNDP's Sustainable Development Networking Programme(SDNP) and the Alliance of Small Island States(AOSIS). The Water Resources Management and Small Island Developing States Branch of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs(DESA) currently administer the project.

Le but principal du réseau est d'utiliser les Technologies de l'Information et de Communication (TIC) pour appuyer la mise en œuvre des objectifs fixés par le Plan d'Action de la Barbade. Le projet a été lancé en 1998 à travers le Programme de Réseau de Communication pour le Développement Durable.

CLICOM : Acronym for CLImate COMputing which, along with INFOCLIMA, is a WCDMP [World Climate Data and Monitoring Programme] project to coordinate the implementation, maintenance and upgrading of automated climate data management procedures and systems in WMO [World Meteorological Organization] member countries. CLICOM is a system for the collection, quality control and archiving of climate data and the production of climate applications products. INFOCLIMA is a system developed to provide information on climate data sets which are available in various services and institutions as well as information about observing station networks and National Climate Centers.
