Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Fish and fish products imported into Canada are inspected to prevent the marketing of unsafe, unwholesome or mislabled products. Increased inspection effort is directed at foreign processors which have demonstrated a history of poor compliance with Canadian standards. The costs of the Import Inspection Program are partially recovered. Importers must obtain an import licence and are also required to pay an inspection services fee for each shipment of fish imported plus examination fees for products that have a history of non-compliance. 1, record 5, English, - Import%20Inspection%20Program
