2, record 11, French, - plante%20compagne

The new [July 2016 Treasury Board Policy on Results will introduce] some important design and nomenclature changes. Departments will no longer be required to have elaborate, cascading program activity architecture. Instead, they will develop a Departmental Results Framework, which articulates core responsibilities(i. e. those major functions departments perform), supported by their comprehensive inventory of programs. Rather than a static view of programs offered by a hierarchal architecture, parliamentarians will have a far more dynamic, rich interface allowing them to group programs in any way they choose. Moreover, providing this information on a searchable web tool like TBS InfoBase will allow for more regular updates of financial and non-financial information, where possible. 4, record 13, English, - Departmental%20Results%20Framework

4, record 13, French, - Cadre%20minist%C3%A9riel%20des%20r%C3%A9sultats

It is important to note that convective cells can cause air currents both upward and downward. Upward convective currents carry pollutants many kilometers high into the atmosphere. At these high altitudes advective currents and prevailing winds can transport these pollutants vast distances very quickly. As air spreads from the rising column, it is cooled and falls back down to the earth. This results in a circular rotation of the air. 3, record 20, English, - advective%20current

The Government of Canada therefore places an emphasis on working in cooperation and collaboration with provincial and territorial governments. Examples of this include the Federal Provincial Territorial/Aboriginal(FPTA) Forum, established in 1998, and the Social Union Framework Agreement(SUFA), signed in February 1999. The FPTA includes an agreement to meet at least once a year to review work undertaken to address Aboriginal issues in the most effective manner. Participants agreed that working together in the spirit of cooperation to address the social and economic challenges facing Aboriginal people is an important step in the formation of a positive environment to address issues of mutual concern. 1, record 21, French, - Forum%20f%C3%A9d%C3%A9ral%2Dprovincial%2Dterritorial%2Dautochtone

Subatomic particles have various properties and are affected by certain forces that exhibit symmetry. An important property that gives rise to a conservation law is parity. In quantum mechanics all elementary particles and atoms may be described in terms of a wave equation. If this wave equation remains identical after simultaneous reflection of all spatial coordinates of the particle through the origin of the coordinate system, then it is said to have even parity. If such simultaneous reflection results in a wave equation that differs from the original wave equation only in sign, then the particle is said to have odd parity. The overall parity of a collection of particles, such as a molecule, is found to be unchanged with time during physical processes and reactions; this fact is expressed as the law of conservation of parity. 2, record 23, English, - law%20of%20conservation%20of%20parity

The influence of oxygen is important because of growing interest in applying oxygen enrichment to natural gas-fired industrial furnaces. The advantage of adding oxygen to the air or fuel stream, while keeping the air-to-fuel ratio constant, is increased heat flux-this results in more efficient combustion design. Oxygen enrichment for the intake air of internal combustion engines has also been considered, as a measure to control exhaust pollutants, especially particulate emissions, from diesel engines. 2, record 24, English, - air%2Dfuel%20ratio

2, record 24, French, - rapport%20du%20m%C3%A9lange%20air%2Dcarburant

In recent years studies of enzyme conformational changes have become highly sophisticated. By a variety of physical techniques they have revealed the great complexity of response of enzymes to small molecules.... One method uses ultrasonics to study the pH induced conformational transition in the active centers of the enzymes. The method utilizes the observation that ultrasonic cavitation produces hydroxyl and hydroperoxyl free radicals in water solution. Penetration of these radicals into the enzyme active center results in enzyme inactivation due to destruction of certain functional groups important for the catalytic activity, typically tryptophan residues.... Thus, a kinetic study of the enzyme ultrasonic inactivation allows us to determine the parameters associated with the conformational changes in the enzyme active center. 2, record 27, English, - conformational%20transition

The Payload Support Center(PSC) is being implemented at the CSA [Canadian Space Agency] to conduct payload activities such as communication protocols verification and procedure validation & verification. The PSC will support crew training and mission simulations. The results of the PSC and DFL tests will be used in the final certification of a payload. In addition, the PSC will play an important role during the on-orbit operation of a payload. The payload flight backup unit or engineering model will be installed in the PSC and will be available to help the payload operators in case of any on-orbit problem. By using a duplicate of the payload in the PSC, the operators, with the help of the technical team, will be able to duplicate the situation and determine the proper corrective procedures. Those procedures will then be either forwarded to the on-orbit crew or to the ground operations personnel to correct the anomaly. The PSC includes the EXPRESS Rack Simulator, the Suitcase Simulator(when required), a workbench area for payload developers and a connection to the CSA Payload Telescience Operations Center(PTOC). 1, record 34, English, - Payload%20Support%20Center

Screen tension is extremely important when screen printing thick films on hybrid-circuit substrates. Tension that is too low results in irregular prints with regularly shaded gaps. An irregularly stretched screen will cause poor pattern definition. The greater the tension, the less amount of ink that will be printed. This is because the angle of attack is less, due to reduced screen deflection. Screen tension will vary with the life of the screen. When the tension becomes too low to be compensated for by adjustment to the printer, the screen must be discarded. 1, record 45, English, - screen%20tension

Ottawa : Fisheries and Oceans, 1999.(Canadian Technical Report of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. 2267). Abstract :"This report summarizes 89 papers from the primary(53) and secondary(33) scientific literature that describe the diet and feeding ecology of demersal fish that occur on the Grand Bank, Scotian Shelf, and nearby waters. Individual studies are summarized in an annotated bibliography. The results are combined to gain an overview of the diet and feeding ecology of several of the best studied, most common, and commercially important species(4 gadids, 3 pleuronectids, redfish, wolffish, and eelpout) that occur on the Scotian Shelf and Grand Bank. Glial cells constitute the second component of the nervous system and are important during neuronal development. The gene described in this paper, glial cell deficient(glide) also known as glial cells missing, is necessary for glial cell fate commitment in Drosophila. Mutations at the glide locus prevent glial cell determination in the embryonic central and peripheral nervous systems. Moreover, the absence of glial cells is the consequence of a cell fate switch from glia to neurons. This suggests the existence of a multipotent precursor cells in the nervous system. glide mutants also display defects in axonal navigation, which confirms and extends previous results indicating a role for glial cells in these processes(Vincent, 1996). 2, record 49, English, - glial%20cells%20missing%20gene

Alpha and beta interferons play an important role in the regulation of the normal immune response. The abnormal production of type I interferons can, however, lead to an inappropriate immune response and to the development of autoimmunity and to the rejection of allografts. The cloning of the type I interferon receptor in our laboratory has enabled us to synthesise soluble variants of the receptor and to isolate a monoclonal antibody capable of inhibiting the biologic action of all the type I interferons tested. We have shown that treatment of monkeys with the anti-interferon receptor antibody together with a subeffective dose of cyclosporin A results in permanent survival of skin and bone marrow allografts. 1, record 53, English, - anti%2Dinterferon

Parametric release can be used as an operational alternative to routine release testing for the drug product. Sterility testing for terminally sterilized drug products is one example. In this case, the release of a batch is based on results from monitoring specific parameters e. g., temperature and pressure, during the terminal sterilization phase(s) of drug product manufacturing. These parameters can generally be more measured, so that they are more reliable in predicting sterility assurance than is end-product sterility testing. It is important to note that the sterilization process should be adequately validated before parametric release is proposed. When parametric release is performed, the attribute which is indirectly controlled(e. g., sterility), together with a reference to the associated test procedure, still should be included in the specifications. 1, record 54, English, - process%20parametric%20release%20submission

1, record 55, English, - ultrasonic%20cavitation

Tomato ringspot nepovirus(TomRSV) infects small fruits and tree fruits. Coat and movement proteins of TomRSV are expressed coordinately via proteolytic processing of a polyprotein precursor at specific cleavage sites by a virus-encoded protease. Therefore the two cleavage sites involved in the release of the coat and movement proteins from the precursor polyprotein must be recognized at equal efficiency by the TomSVP protease. Development of categorization methods has focused on radiological characterization by nondestructive gamma-ray monitoring coupled with scaling factors for other radionuclides based on destructive analysis of typical wastes from each of the important waste streams. Most work so far has been done with incinerable waste since comparison of monitoring results on the incinerator feed and ash can be made with destructive analyses of samples of well-mixed ash. 1, record 59, English, - incinerable%20feed

The basic creep is in principle determined as the difference between the strain of the loaded specimen coated with resin and that of the equivalent specimen with no load. With the uncoated specimen (preserved under a polyane film for 28 days, then exposed to a controlled atmosphere), the same calculation gives the "total" creep: the sum of the basic creep and of an additional strain conventionally called desiccation creep. 1, record 60, English, - desiccation%20creep

1, record 60, French, - fluage%20de%20dessiccation

A number of the ecological factors thought to influence the development of the micro-flora of vacuum-packaged beef were examined(0(subscript) 2 CO2 within the vacuum-package was found to be less important than 0(subscript) 2 concentration in producing a lactic flora. The inhibitory effects of lactic organisms in mixed culture were also studies. Finally, a representative selection of lactic organisms from vacuum-packaged beef was surveyed for their ability to cause proteolysis, lipolysis, dextran production and H(subscript) 2O(subscript) 2 production. Results suggested that a significant proportion were potential spoilers. 2, record 63, English, - spoiler

A cornered seam needs reinforcement at the angle to strengthen it. This is done by using small stitches(15 to 20 per inch) for 1" on either side of the corner. It is important to pivot with accuracy. When cornered seams are enclosed, as in a collar, the corners should be blunted so that a better point results when the collar is turned. 1, record 64, English, - cornered%20seam
