As part of the Customs Action Plan, the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency(CCRA) is introducing the Customs Self-Assessment(CSA) program, a progressive trade option for clients who invest in compliance. Based on the principles of risk management and partnership, the CSA program will be of mutual benefit to the importing community and the CCRA. Clients will have the opportunity to significantly reduce the costs of compliance while enhancing their ability to comply with customs requirements. The CCRA will have the opportunity to better align its resources with trade of higher or unknown risk.

Dans le cadre du Plan d'action des douanes, l'Agence des douanes et du revenu du Canada (ADRC) met en œuvre le Programme d'autocotisation des douanes (PAD), une nouvelle option commerciale pour les clients qui investissent dans l'observation. Fondé sur les principes de la gestion du risque et du partenariat, le PAD profitera aux importateurs et à l'ADRC. En effet, les importateurs auront la possibilité de réduire considérablement leurs coûts d'observation tout en améliorant leur capacité de se conformer aux exigences douanières. L'ADRC, pour sa part, pourra concentrer ses ressources sur le commerce à risque élevé ou inconnu.
