A measure of the location accuracy between the object in the image and its geographical co-ordinates in the real world.

CONT

Measurement parameters include point target impulse response measures : range and azimuth impulse response widths(IRW), range and azimuth peak sidelobe ratios(PSLR), integrated sidelobe ratio(ISLR), and absolute location error(ALE), using images of RADARSAT Precision Transponders(RPT).

L'erreur de localisation absolue peut être calculée pour un point de l'image en comparant la latitude et la longitude de la position du pic de réponse impulsionnelle du transpondeur avec la position en latitude et en longitude réelle du transpondeur. Les produits standard de RADARSAT générés par le Centre canadien de traitement des données sont traités en utilisant une altitude de zéro mètre (c'est-à-dire au niveau de la mer). De plus, un délai est introduit dans la rétrodiffusion du signal par le RTP. Puisque le radar à synthèse d'ouverture (RSO) est un système utilisant la distance, ce délai d'environ 1,8 microseconde produit un déplacement de la réplique du transpondeur à une distance plus grande (distance mesurée à partir du capteur).

A type of Hall effect thruster.

This plasma thruster relies on the "Hall effect" to accelerate xenon ions to speed up to 16, 000 km/hour. It is able to deliver 70 mN of thrust with a specific impulse(the ratio between thrust and propellant consumption) 5 to 10 times better than traditional chemical thrusters and for mush longer durations(months or even years, compared to the few minutes’ operating times typical of traditional chemical engines).
