The Canada-China Framework Statement was signed during Premier Zhu Rongji's visit to Canada in November 1998 and reflects a shared interest in enhancing cooperation on environmental and sustainable development issues. It provides an umbrella for collaboration on the environment, especially climate change and sustainable development, through the coordination of all federal efforts with China on environmental and sustainable development issues. The Framework Statement created the Canada-China Joint Committee on Environment Cooperation(JCEC) with Environment Canada and the Chinese State Environmental Protection Administration(SEPA) as the lead agencies. The ASEAN Regional Forum(ARF) is the outgrowth of the annual Ministerial-level dialogue between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) and its Dialogue Partners.
