OBS

It is used in the ammunition of coaxially mounted ranging weapons, e.g. tank ranging machine-gun and 106 mm HAW .50 cal spotter rifle. The ammunition is loaded so that the trajectory of the bullet closely approximates that of the main armament projectiles.

Method of identifying the type of military cartridges by the colour of the annulus. This practice is now obsolete but is still sometimes encountered on foreign ammunition. 4.
