ICISA commemorated its 75th anniversary in 2003. From its inception until 1999, the Association was based in Switzerland, where it is still registered under Swiss Civil Code. From 1999 until 2003 the head office of the Association was based in London, where it shared it's premises with the Berne Union. In July of 2003 the Association moved to Amsterdam.

The first Secretaries Week was held June 1-7, 1952. In 1955, the NSA (National Secretaries Association) changed the date of the Secretaries Week to the last full week in April. This has become a permanent date for the observance of the week. In 1981, "Professional" was added to the name of the Secretaries Week.

The 48-year-old tradition of honoring administrative professionals during the last full week of April received a new name in 2000. Professional Secretaries Week has been renamed Administrative Professionals Week effective with the April 23-29, 2000 observance. The announcement was made by the International Association of Administrative Professionals(IAAP), based in Kansas City, Mo., official sponsor of Professional Secretaries Week since the event's inception in 1952.

Since its inception in 1928, the American Association of Airport Executives(AAAE) has become the preeminent professional organization for airport management. In response to the challenge of managing airports in this new global environment, the AAAE believes there is a need to share advanced airport professional training and development on a worldwide basis. To that end, the AAAE has created an affiliated international organization, the International Association of Airport Executives(IAAE), to offer a non-U. S. accreditation program for airport executives. Canada is the first country to be offered this international accreditation program because of the strong interest expressed by its airport executives. The Canadian Aviation Institute, Georgian College, is the exclusive provider of this accreditation process. Individuals from Canadian airports who join the organization will be members of the IAAE-Canada.
