The Working Holiday Program(Australia) is designed for Canadians between the ages of 18 and 25 with a valid passport, a return travel ticket and sufficient funds to travel in Australia on their own. It allows Canadians to spend a maximum of 12 months working, on an incidental basis, to support there stay in Australia. Work can generally be found in the service industries and in farming. Employment with one employer for more than three months is not permitted.

Canadian citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 are eligible for the Working Holiday Program(New Zealand) if they are able to satisfy the visa officer that the primary intention is to holiday in New Zealand--with employment being an incidental rather than a primary reason for the visit. Participants must also possess a return travel ticket and sufficient funds for the first six months of their visit to New Zeland. The goal is to increase the movement of young people between Canada and New Zeland and to strengthen the links between the two countries.
