A unit trust is an investment vehicle which issues securities called trust units. Each unit represents participation in a large pool of capital that is invested in a group of investment vehicles by professional managers. Like a common shareholder, each unit holder receives a transferable, marketable certificate, representing the number of units owned and is entitled to one vote per unit owned. Unlike a common shareholder, however, ownership of a unit trust does not provide the safeguard of limited liability and theoretically a unit holder could be held liable for certain debts incurred by the trust itself.... All income received by the trust, aside from administrative expenses and fees of the advisors and managers, flows directly to unit holders as dividends. 2, record 11, English, - unit%20trust

2, record 11, French, - fiducie%20d%27investissement%20%C3%A0%20participation%20unitaire

... In general terms, a "stapled security" involves two or more separate securities that are "stapled" together such that the securities are not freely transferable independently of each other. Within the scope of section 18. 3 [of the "Income Tax Act"], a stapled security is a publicly-traded security that is traded together with another security in circumstances that allow deductions to be taken that frustrate the policy objectives of the tax on specified investment flow-through(SIFT) trusts and partnerships, and of the tax regime for real estate investment trusts(REITs). Reasons for hoarding include fear of a future shortage and expectation of a future rise in the price of the goods or in the money hoarded. In monetary theory, hoarding is considered to be any part of savings which is not used for investment. Thus, hoarding is a leakage in the income stream, taking money out of circulation and reducing total income. The larger the proportion of income hoarded in the form of money, the more slowly money turns over. The velocity of money in circulation varies inversely with the rate of hoarding. 2, record 19, English, - hoarding

A ratio indicating the effect on total employment or on total income of a specified amount of a real capital investment. This important economic concept shows how fluctuations in the amount of investment..., although small in relation to the national income, are capable of generating fluctuations of much greater magnitude in total employment and income.... As the multiplier is the ratio between employment or income and investment, it is thus the reciprocal of the ratio of savings to income, i. e. the reciprocal of the marginal propensity to save. 4, record 40, English, - multiplier

2, record 49, French, - d%C3%A9gringolade

Saskatchewan and British Columbia have decided to restructure their investment system. In these provinces, the allowances payable for children are removed from income assistance and distributed through a separate, income-tested child benefit that is integrated with the federal CCTB [Canada Child Tax Benefit] base benefit and the NCB [National Child Benefit] Supplement. The result is a single cheque that includes both provincial and federal investments. 3, record 60, English, - single%20cheque

This pool will be an accumulation of after-tax income that was taxed at the general rate. Since the rate of taxation is based on both federal and provincial rates, the government has decided to simply assume that the combined general tax rate is 32 per cent rather than trying to determine the actual rate that applied. This chapter provides an introduction to what is called the "modern theory of income analysis". The principal stress is upon the level of total spending as determined by the interplay of the monetary forces of saving and investment.... it can be used as well to defend private enterprise as to limit it; as will to attack as to defend government fiscal intervention. 2, record 88, English, - income%20analysis
