The easement of support is a right acquired over and above the natural rights of support. It may either involve an enhancement to the dominant owner's natural right of support with a corresponding increase of the servient owner's obligations to refrain from interference, or it may involve a diminution of the dominant owner's obligations to refrain from depriving the servient tenement of the support to which the servient owner would otherwise have been entitled. The easement of support may be defined as the right of an owner of buildings not to have the support which the dominant tenement receives from the land or buildings of his neighbour removed without replacement.(Halsbury, 4th ed., Vol. 14, p. 85). 1, record 14, English, - easement%20for%20support

Where there has been a sub-sale, the usual practice is to take a conveyance from the vendor to the sub-purchaser in which the original purchaser joins. The reason for this is the saving of the expense of an extra deed and also a saving in stamp duty. In such a deed the first purchaser usually conveys as trustee and that he will do so is generally provided in the contract of sub-sale. If there is no increase of price there is no need to join the original purchaser, for he is joined merely that he may receive and give a receipt for the increase of price.("William's Contracts for Sale of Land and Title to Land", 4th ed., 1975, p. 763). 1, record 15, English, - contract%20of%20sub%2Dsale

Climate models use quantitative methods to simulate the interactions of the atmosphere, oceans, land surface, and ice. They are used for a variety of purposes from study of the dynamics of the weather and climate system to projections of future climate. The most talked-about models of recent years have been those relating air temperature to emissions of carbon dioxide... These models predict an upward trend in the surface temperature record, as well as a more rapid increase in temperature at higher altitudes. 3, record 20, English, - climate%20model

Hierarchical classification. Classifiers utilizing hierarchical, or sequential, architectures generally perform well for remote sensing applications. Typically, when discriminating land cover types, there is a benefit to separating the data into general groupings rather than specific classes, as well as to removing those classes which are easily separable from the rest. This multiscale framework in terms of class separability reduces the complexity of the classifier, both in terms of training and decision making. This is because the classifier does not need to distinguish between all classes, just one class(or a few) from the rest. By employing a hierarchical classifier, different inputs can be used at each level of the overall classification process depending on the classes to be discriminated. This then allows for a possible reduction in the number of inputs, or for the use of class specific data such as topography, at a given level. The described benefits of a hierarchical architecture generally lead to an increase in classification accuracy.... A hierarchical version of the above MRF-based classifier was developed to account for the class dependent variation in backscatter associated with changes in incidence angle. A methodology for "correcting" SAR data according to class-specific models is described and is then presented as the first level in the architecture of the hierarchical classifier. 3, record 26, English, - hierarchical%20classification

Water vapour pressure is the atmospheric pressure which is exerted by water vapour(water in its gaseous state). It is one way of measuring the humidity of the air. At a given temperature, an increase of water vapour in the air corresponds to an increase in the humidity of the air. Water vapour is supplied to the atmosphere by evaporation of water from oceans, lakes, wet land surfaces or from vegetation(transpiration). Water vapour absorbs the sun's radiation. As a result, the sunlight received at the earth's surface will be more intense in a drier atmosphere. 6, record 30, English, - water%20vapour%20pressure

4, record 34, French, - redevance%20d%27espaces%20verts

By participating in this programme you will help to increase our knowledge of frogs and toads in Ontario. Frogs and toads are a part of local biodiversity-the amazing variety of life around us. Conserving biodiversity is essential to the health of the planet and the welfare of humankind. Changes in frog and toad populations may be good indicators of changes in the wetland environments that sustain them. This is because they live "on the edge" between water and land, and are very sensitive to pollution and habitat alterations. 1, record 36, English, - Frogwatch%20Ontario

1, record 36, French, - Attention%20grenouilles%20de%20l%27Ontario

Correction Lines.... the meridians are converging lines that meet at the poles. Like the meridians, the range lines also converge as the run north from the 49th parallel. As a result, the top or northern border of any town ship must measure slightly less in distance than its base or southern border.... This, of course, was a situation that the surveyors wanted to avoid, since the whole intent of the grid system was to create parcels of land of approximately the same size. To reduce distortion caused by the converging range lines, the surveyors used the following method. The second township line north of the 49th parallel and every fourth township line thereafter were established as correction line. At each correction line, the range line is displaced a certain distance. This jog, as it is called, in effect increases the area of the townships north of each correction line, thereby compensating somewhat for the convergence. The jogs in the range lines west of any meridian are accumulative. That is, if you follow a correction line west from any meridian, you will find that the jogs you first encounter are very small. The jogs increase as you move west from range line to range line. 3, record 37, English, - Correction%20Line
