Ariane-5(Expendable Rocket) is part of the European Union's Space Program. At present, the Ariane 5 functions as a Commercial Satellite Launcher and will be used to launch the ATV Cargo/Supply Spacecraft to the International Space station(ISS) in the future. Ariane-5 is the successor to Ariane 4.... The Main Cryogenic Stage is the core of the Ariane 5 launcher. It is 30 meters high and utilizes the Vulcain Rocket Engine. The propellants are liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. Two Solid Rocket Boosters are around 30 metres high. The two solid boosters deliver more than 90 percent of the total launcher's thrust at the start of flight. Upper Stage is used to propel the payload to its final orbit. The upper stage uses storable propellants. Ariane-5 is developing new upper stages, along with modifications to the main cryogenic stage and solid boosters, that will increase performance and meet demands of space commercial launch market. 2, record 10, English, - Ariane%205

The pig cycle is a widely recognised phenomenon and is caused by expansion of the breeding herd at times of high profitability, a subsequent increase in supply leading to overproduction, a decrease in price for finished pigs to clear the market and, if these conditions persist for long enough, a subsequent contraction of the breeding herd. The pig cycle is not an example of market failure, indeed it could be argued that the market works perfectly in terms of the transmission of price signals; it is the lag between signal and response that causes the inefficiencies. It is therefore actually the interaction of natural production cycles with perfectly competitive behaviour by producers rather than the inadequate provision of price information that results in resource misallocation. 2, record 12, English, - pig%20cycle

The lines agree on a set of freight rates and any special rates for shippers and each line charges the same as the others. The ships used are of types suitable for the trade. Unlike tramp shipping where freight rates are a function of daily supply and demand, conference rates are relatively stable : base rates are altered by means of a general rate increase which in many cases is once a year. Balloon cardiac catheters improve or restore coronary blood flow. Doctors often use this type of coronary intervention to inhibit the effects of coronary artery disease where dangerous plaque build-up clogs arteries that supply blood to the heart. After placement with a guide wire, an inflatable balloon sits on the tip of the catheter and expands inside the artery to increase coronary circulation, allow for stent placement and deflates for removal after the artery is opened... An over-the-wire balloon catheter has two lumens : one for the guide wire and the other for balloon inflation. The guide wire exists independent of the balloon so two operators must perform the coronary procedure. A criticism of the over-the-wire catheter includes increased radiation exposure due to increased fluoroscopy time during balloon placement. 1, record 17, English, - over%2Dthe%2Dwire%20balloon%20catheter

As a former gunnery officer, Fisher revolutionized battleship design with the first all-big-gun ship, the HMS Dreadnought. Fisher was a firm believer in two things, the first being that speed was as good a form of protection as armor. His second belief was in the overwhelming power of large-caliber naval guns, and he firmly held that a single, devastating hit would decide most capital ship engagements. These two premises led to the development of the battlecruiser and to the rapid increase in gun sizes with each generation of ships. Envisioned as a sort of "super armored cruiser, "the type was designed to scout for the battlefleet without fear from enemy cruisers, yet was fast enough to escape an enemy battleship. They were to be capable of running down any existing cruiser and destroying it, thus protecting British supply lines to her overseas empire. 2, record 31, English, - super%2Darmoured%20cruiser

The "buying hedge" protects against price increases. Suppose an exporter sells a cargo of grain for delivery in six months. If the exporter buys the grain upon receipt of the order, to ensure a supply at a known price, capital would be tied up and storage, insurance and interest costs incurred. If [he] waits until the delivery date to buy the grain, there is the risk of a price increase. However, by buying a contract in the futures market, [he] establishes the price and ensures a supply to meet his commitment, without paying holding costs other than those built into the price. 8, record 41, English, - buying%20hedge

1, record 41, French, - contrepartie%20d%27achat

It will service in a first stage the Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan markets, then the French and German ones with an expected increase by 2000. A general equilibrium trade model can be described as one in which supply equals demand in every market and all markets are linked together through the mechanism of relative prices. For instance, an increase in demand in one industry raises the price in that industry with a resulting impact on those industries which either purchase the product as an input or supply the initial industry. 2, record 54, English, - general%20equilibrium%20trade%20model

Case of inelastic derived demand. Suppose that a particular building-trades union, such as the electricians’, raises wages. This case emphasizes the factors making for inelastic demand and a small resulting drop in employment of electricians.(1) Note that in the short run, employers cannot substitute other factors-such as machines or plasterers-for electricians.(2) Do not forget the importance of being unimportant : The total cost of a house will be little affected by a change in the wage rate of electricians alone. This fact will tend to cause only a mild reduction of employment as a result of an increase in their wages.(3) Suppose there is a great housing shortage so that people feel they need homes desperately. Inelasticity of demand for the final product, housing, will lower the derived elasticity for electricians.(4) Suppose that all practicing electricians must be in the union, so that an increase in wages is not followed by a great increase in nonunion labor supplied. This inelasticity of supply of other factors will tend to make the demand for union electricians inelastic.(5) Suppose, finally, that administered pricing or public regulation will not permit the prices at which houses are available to change much. This will make for a little quantity of houses sold and hence inelastic demand for the factors that build house. 1, record 58, English, - inelastic%20derived%20demand
