Ratio of the mass or volume of a solute to the mass or volume of the solution or solvent. It can be expressed in terms of molarity, molality, normality, or mol fraction. 2, record 1, English, - concentration
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The rate of an enzyme reaction(V) varies with the substrate concentration, increasing with an increased concentration until a maximum value(Vmax) is reached. At this point, all enzyme molecules are fully occupied and the rate of reaction is limited by the rate of the catalytic process on the enzyme surface. For most enzymes, the concentration of substrate at which the reaction rate is half maximal(Km) is a measure of how tightly the substrates are bound, with a large value of Km representing a weak binding, and vice versa. 3, record 1, English, - concentration

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 1, French, - concentration

Because of the way that enzymes work, there is a limit to the amount of a substrate that a single enzyme can process in a given time. If the concentration of substrate is increased, the rate at which product is formed also increases up to a maximum value. At that point the enzyme molecule is saturated with substrate, and the rate of reaction depends only on how rapidly the substrate molecule can be processed. This rate is expressed as a turnover number, which for many enzymes is in the range of 1000 substrate molecules per second. 1, record 3, English, - saturate
