It is likely that animal research will lay the necessary foundation and open up ways to study genetic events occurring in human embryos made from gametes donated by parents at increased risk for transmitting such genetic diseases to their offspring. 2, record 4, French, - r%C3%A9plication%20non%20r%C3%A9gul%C3%A9e

Because of significant advantages, the kraft process has become established as the world's dominant pulping method. Nonetheless, the process also has some severe shortcomings.... Two add-on technologies date from pre-1970, the polysulfide process(used commercially on a limited basis) and the H2S pretreatment process(demonstrated at the pilot plant level). Both methods are successful in providing significant increases in pulp yield, up to 7 % on dry wood. Unfortunately, both methods are associated with increased concentration of sulfur in the chemical cycle, which exacerbates the odor problem. Additionally, both methods require further processing steps that increase the capital and operating costs of the pulp mill. 1, record 7, English, - H2S%20pretreatment

2, record 7, French, - pr%C3%A9traitement%20au%20H2S

Do not plant cereal or canola as a companion or "nurse" crop, says Acharya. Research shows that companion crops vigorously compete with the forage crop for valuable nutrients, water and sunlight. 3, record 16, French, - culture%20associ%C3%A9e

Grain processing : the type of grain and processing method can have a significant impact on the site and extent of starch digestion of a particular diet and resulting milk component composition and yield. Generally, ground, rolled, heated, steam fladed or pelletized grain increases starch digestibilities and propionic acid production in the rumen. Steam flaked corn or sorghum compared to steam rolled corn or dry rolled corn or sorghum consistently improves milk production and milk protein yield. In six comparisons, steam flaked corn increased milk protein percentage and yield and decreased milk fat percentage compared to steam rolled corn.

2, record 22, French, - rendement%20biologique

World wheat area has stabilized at just over 228 million hectares. Yield per hectare has increased markedly in many countries over the past 25 years. For the United States, yield has increased by almost 60% and in China it has more than doubled. These increases are in distinct contrast to what is seen in a few other areas of the world where yields remain low. Improves soil and water management, fertilizer use, pest control, improved varieties, better choice of land, power machinery and other technological improvements have been major factors in increased yield. In recent years, yields in most countries have levelled off. In contrast, yields in India, Mexico, Pakistan and some other developing countries continue to rise. There is reason to believe that yields can be raised in nearly all countries by using modern agronomic practices based on agricultural research. 1, record 23, English, - world%20wheat%20area

1, record 23, French, - emblavures%20mondiales

Because of significant advantages, the kraft process has become established as the world's dominant pulping method. Nonetheless, the process also has some severe shortcomings.... Two add-on technologies date from pre-1970, the polysulfide process(used commercially on a limited basis) and the H2S pretreatment process(demonstrated at the pilot plant level). Both methods are successful in providing significant increases in pulp yield, up to 7% on dry wood. Unfortunately, both methods are associated with increased concentration of sulfur in the chemical cycle, which exacerbates the odor problem. Additionally, both methods require further processing steps that increase the capital and operating costs of the pulp mill. 1, record 26, English, - polysulfide%20process

1, record 26, French, - proc%C3%A9d%C3%A9%20au%20polysulfure

Because of significant advantages, the kraft process has become established as the world's dominant pulping method. Nonetheless, the process also has some severe shortcomings, principally the low yield from wood, the comparatively high residual lignin content of bleachable grades, and the malodors caused by reduced sulfur compounds.... Most of the earlier modifications were aimed at increased retention of carbohydrates by stabilizing the end groups of the cellulose and hemicellulose polymer chains against "peeling reactions". These reactions cause dissolution of the end groups one unit at a time and consume a significant portion of the cooking chemical. 1, record 27, English, - peeling%20reaction

2, record 27, French, - r%C3%A9action%20de%20dissolution%20des%20monom%C3%A8res%20de%20bouts%20de%20cha%C3%AEne
