The Western Canada Party(WCP) is a Canadian political party that advocates the separation from Canada of the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut to form a new country. The WIP ran 52 candidates across western Canada in the federal election of 1988. All the candidates were soundly defeated with none garnering even 1% of the popular vote in any riding. The party also has or had provincial branches in each of the provinces. The federal wing of the Western Independence Party was dormant; they have not run any candidates in any federal elections since 1988. The party has been resurrected in April, 2005 at a founding convention in Strathmore, AB under the new name "Western Canada Party. " 1, record 1, English, - Western%20Canada%20Party

The program is a form of non-taxable financial assistance available to Canadian Veterans of World War I(WWI), World War II(WWII) and the Korean War. It also acts as a "window of access" to other programs(e. g., Veterans Independence Program, Assistance Fund) for recipients and "near-recipients"(individuals who would qualify, except they receive income through other income support programs). The purpose of WVA is to ensure that, in recognition of wartime service, eligible persons are provided with regular monthly income in order to meet their basic needs, and maintain dignity. 1, record 4, English, - War%20Veterans%20Allowance%20Program

1, record 4, French, - Programme%20des%20allocations%20aux%20anciens%20combattants

"Paleoeskimo" is a term applied to the Pre-Inuit occupants of the central and eastern North American Arctic and Greenland, a time period extending from ca. 2300 BC - 1000 AD. The Early Paleoeskimo period (2300-1000 BC) consists of archaeological units referred to as Pre-Dorset (Canada), Independence I (high arctic Canada and northern Greenland) and Saqqaq (western and southern Greenland). The Late Paleoeskimo Period (500 BC - 1000 AD) is marked by the Dorset culture. In between is something nebulous that is sometimes called the "Transitional" period, in which Pre-Dorset develops into Dorset (distinctive regional variants include Independence II in high arctic Canada and northern Greenland and the Groswater Phase of Labrador and Newfoundland). 1, record 7, English, - Independence%20I
