Pour modéliser l'évapotranspiration réelle il a fallu passer par plusieurs étapes : - distribuer l'évapotranspiration potentielle en utilisant la formule de Turc (basée sur T [la température] et le rayonnement solaire), - appliquer un facteur de correction pour tenir compte du type de végétation et de son état de développement, - appliquer un autre facteur correctif pour tenir compte des réserves en eau dans le sol.

On calcule plutôt l'évapotranspiration à l'aide de formules empiriques comme celle de Thornthwaite, de Penman ou de Turc. On distingue l'évapotranspiration potentielle (ETP) qui est le pouvoir évaporant de l'atmosphère sur un sol avec couvert végétal disposant de l'eau en abondance. L'évapotranspiration réelle (ETR) correspond à la perte en eau d'un sol quand l'eau vient à manquer: l'ETR est fonction de l'ETP et de la quantité d'eau présente dans le sol.

La formule de Turc a été établi à l'échelle des bassins versants : elle est valable dans ce cadre et pour des échelles de temps de l'ordre de la décade ou du mois.

L'évapotranspiration et les flux turbulents de chaleur sensible et latente sont d'abord évalués au niveau de la station micro-météorologique de référence. Un indice de l'humidité disponible dans le sol est ensuite calculé à partir du rapport du flux de chaleur latente et du bilan énergétique de surface. Cet indice est sensé être représentatif de toute la Belgique, le principal facteur gouvernant l'évapotranspiration étant, dans les climats tempérés, le rayonnement net modulé par la présence ou l'absence de nuages.

Given the assumption that financial soundness is desirable, a methodology of measuring it is proposed through modifying the approach used by credit-rating agencies of the bond market. The approach develops a profile and overall index of financial soundness, using accepted ratios relating to financial soundness. The separate aspects measured are : 1. the ability to attract capital, 2. the ability to weather a period of interrupted capital availability through sufficient liquid reserves, 3. the flexibility to select alternative types and sources of income, and 4. the control over cash flow.
