An alternative and far superior approach to indexing is the tract or parcel index, but it is available in only a handful of states. Here a separate page or set of pages in the index books is devoted to each tract of land, such as a quarter-quarter section, a specific block in a subdivision, or even an individual parcel of land. This page reflects the history of the tract's title from the time of the original conveyance from the sovereign.(Cunningham, Stoebuck and Whitman, 3rd ed., 1984, p. 797).

A graphical profile that exhibits ram resistance with depth.

CONT

The ram profile is a record of a hardness index through a vertical section of the snowpack. The ram hardness(R) is measured by driving a ram penetrometer(ram or ramsonde) vertically into the snowpack. The ram is a tube or rod with a centimeter scale for depth and a standard cone-shaped tip. The operator drops a hammer(H) a certain distance(f) and records the penetration depth(p) of the ram into the snow.

Le plan de référence désigne l'étude préalable d'ensemble des projets d'aménagement susceptibles d'être engagés à court et à moyen terme (environ cinq ans) dans une ville. Il peut être assimilé à un document d'urbanisme dont l'objet serait d'amener les collectivités locales à préciser et à programmer leurs projets d'intervention, à en mesurer les effets sur le développement de la ville et les finances communales, à établir des priorités et à agir en coordinateur des actions publiques d'aménagement. Le plan de référence constitue une pratique administrative sans contenu juridique : il n'est pas opposable aux tiers et n'engage pas la collectivité locale comme pourrait le faire un S.D.A.U. C'est un document d'intention dont la fonction est de fournir une base aux négociations qui seront entreprises pour obtenir le concours de l'État dans chaque opération. Bien que sans valeur contractuelle, il se rapproche des dossiers villes moyennes lancés en 1973 et des programmes de modernisation et d'équipement qui avaient été étudiés dans certaines villes lors de la préparation des Vième et VIième Plans.

When the clay has been opened up it is lifted up to form the walls of the pot, using inward and upward pressure from the left palm, and lifting and squeezing pressure from the right thumb and finger. The hands are firmly locked together for support.

The left hand is used inside the pot and the fingertips of as many fingers(not thumb) as you can get into the pot are pressed gently against the base of the wall. The right hand is used outside the pot, and the index finger is crooked so that the flat section between the first and second knuckles can be pressed down on the wheel-head. The side of the index finger then will naturally fit against the wall or side of the pot. Both hands can be drawn upwards together.
