The heading indicator(also known as the directional gyro) is an instrument designed to indicate the heading of the airplane... The gyro wheel in the heading indicator is mounted vertically and spins about its horizontal axis... The spinning gyro wheel is mounted in an inner gimbal ring that is free to turn about the horizontal axis. The inner ring is, in turn, mounted inside an outer gimbal ring. The compass rose card on the face of the instrument is attached by a series of gears to the outer gimbal ring. As the airplane turns, the compass card rotates indicating a turn to the left or right. 1, record 1, English, - compass%20rose%20card

1, record 1, French, - rose%20gradu%C3%A9e%20du%20compas

The attitude indicator(also called the artificial horizon or the gyro horizon) provides the pilot with an artificial horizon as a means of reference when the natural horizon cannot be seen... The natural horizon is represented by a horizon bar on the face of the instrument. The attitude of the aircraft in relation to the horizon is indicated by a split bar or, on some instruments, by a miniature airplane... When the airplane noses up, the miniature airplane rises above the horizon bar, indicating a nose high condition. When the airplane noses down, the miniature airplane sinks below the horizon bar, indicating a nose down condition. When the airplane banks, the miniature airplane banks on the horizon bar and the pointer indicates the degree of bank on the index scale... In the caged position, the gyro is locked with the miniature airplane showing level flight. 1, record 2, English, - miniature%20airplane

5, record 2, French, - maquette
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
6, record 2, French, - maquette
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 3 CONT
4, record 2, French, - maquette
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
7, record 2, French, - maquette
