Le Réseau de télévision des peuples autochtones (APTN) est le premier réseau national de télévision autochtone au monde. Conçues par les peuples autochtones, pour les peuples autochtones et au sujet de ces derniers, ses émissions sont destinées à tous les Canadiens aussi bien que les téléspectateurs autour du monde. L'entrée en ondes d'APTN, le 1er septembre 1999, constitue une étape importante pour les peuples autochtones à travers le Canada. En effet, pour la première fois de l'histoire de la télédiffusion, les Premières nations, les Inuits et les Métis peuvent faire connaître leurs histoires à tout le Canada grâce à un réseau national de télévision qui diffuse un contenu autochtone.
