In popular culture, piano-making is seen as an artisan craft. The artisan spends thousands of working hours without the efficiency of complex machinery to produce a magnificent, melodious concert grand based only on individual expertise and skill. This artisanal stereotype persists, in large measure and piano-making companies themselves encourage it. But the craft of piano-making began to change in the second half of the 19th century because of industrialization and changing musical tastes. Even before the industrialization of piano-making, one person alone did not build pianos. 2, record 8, English, - piano%20making

Genericide refers to the gradual process of a trademarked term becoming generic through use by the common individual. When a term becomes generic, the term cannot receive a trademark nor can current trademarks be enforced. This process can be harmful to companies, but they do not have much control over how the common person refers to their trademarked products. For example, "escalator" was originally a protected trademark used to designate the moving stairs manufactured by a specific company. Over time, the common individual used the term to refer to any moving stairs and thus ["escalator"] lost its trademark protection. 1, record 10, English, - trademark%20genericide

3, record 14, French, - Identit%C3%A9%20num%C3%A9rique%20des%20voyageurs%20connus

The Canadian Association of Recycling Industries is the national organization of Canadian recycling industries. It was founded in 1941 after the federal government sent out an urgent request to Canada's leading scrap processors to help in the war effort by organizing into a unified force to collect and process scrap for Canadian metallurgical plants. Today it is comprised of companies ranging from individual scrap collectors to technologically advanced, capital intensive processing plants. Members are engaged in the recycling of all commodities, but the majority deal primarily or exclusively in metals. 1, record 29, English, - Canadian%20Association%20of%20Recycling%20Industries

1, record 29, French, - Association%20canadienne%20des%20industries%20du%20recyclage

Delta Air Lines built an equity core for its global marketing alliance, taking small but important cross-equity stakes with its two main partners, Swissair and Singapore Airlines.... When evaluating the merits of strong/weak alliances, it is also interesting to note that negotiations between financially near equal carriers often fail. BA/KLM is one example. Even the Delta/Singapore/SwissAir cross-equity holding relationship has not yet resulted in a real strategic alliance. The individual companies have strong franchises that they would have to place at risk to become more closely integrated. They could actually dilute their respective identities and make the whole less than the sum of the parts. 1, record 43, English, - cross%2Dequity
