What is pyometra? ... Pyometra is a secondary infection due to hormonal changes in a female’s reproductive tract. Following estrus (heat), progesterone levels remain elevated for several weeks, stimulating the uterine lining to thicken in preparation for pregnancy. If pregnancy does not occur for several estrus cycles, the lining increases in thickness until cysts form in the uterus. This condition is called cystic endometrial hyperplasia. The thickened cystic lining secretes fluids, creating an ideal environment where bacteria can grow. 1, record 2, English, - pyometra

Regulatory enzymes occupy key positions in metabolic pathways. The structural elements needed to make a regulatory enzyme are used with great selectivity and imposed only on those enzymes with which it will result in the maximum economy of the cell' s resources. An understanding of a particular multienzyme pathway usually suggests which enzymes might make attractive candidates for regulation. For example, many biosynthetic pathways involve a long chain of single chemical steps, each carried out by a discrete enzyme.... It is obviously most economical for the first enzyme of the pathway to be inhibited once sufficient end product is present. 3, record 16, English, - regulatory%20enzyme

If the device fails to complete a satisfactory close operation whilst the close signal is maintained, then attempts at further reclosing(pumping) are inhibited. The term antistatic refers to a condition where static generation is inhibited during contact and separation with a different material. In general, antistatic carpet is any carpet product that will generate less static electricity than standard carpet. [It] is not conductive and it is not possible to ground anti-static carpet [which] usually contains bi-component yarns. The reason for specifying antistatic carpet is to establish a space that will be free of static shocks, or zaps. Most new antistatic carpet will prevent shocks as long as the relative humidity(RH) is above 25%. Antistatic carpet should not be confused with conductive or ESD [electrostatic discharge] carpet. Antistatic is not a permanent property. 1, record 38, English, - antistatic%20carpet

As a result of the larger diameter Vanguard satellite design, the original Aerobee was now too skinny for use as a second stage. A new larger-diameter stage designed by Aerojet-General would have to be used instead. I have developed several liquid rocket engines using both cryogenic and storable propellants. While [Jeffrey] Dahmer inhibited many of the characteristics of the organized offender-he hunted victims, lured them to his apartment with promises of money and favors, and after death hid and concealed the evidence of his crimes-he also exhibited many dynamics associated with the disorganized offender. He had sex with his victims after death, consumed their flesh, mutilated their bodies, and kept body-part souvenirs. in feedback inhibition the end-product of a metabolic pathway acts as an allosteric inhibitor of the first enzyme of this metabolic chain. Thus, when enough product is synthesized, the entire chain can be shut off, and useless accumulation of metabolites is avoided. An example is provided by aspartate transcarbamylase, the first enzyme in pyrimidine biosynthesis, which is inhibited by CTP, the end-product of this biosynthetic pathway. 1, record 73, English, - transcarbamylase
