The cockpit clearview windows are plug-type windows that rest against a flange around the perimeter of the sill. Each window can be moved through a crank-and-chain mechanism located on the bulkhead below the windowsill. To open the window, the locking mechanism is first released by the pilot. This preliminary action releases the latches on the aft edge of the window, but does not move the window. The initial turning of the hand crank pulls the aft edge of the window inboard enough to clear the sill, allowing the window to slide aft when the crank is further turned. The window can be unlocked when the aircraft is pressurized, but the outward force on the window is so great that turning the hand crank cannot open the window. 3, record 14, English, - sliding%20window

2, record 14, French, - fen%C3%AAtre%20coulissante

Carving tools. All tribes used some combination of chisels, crooked knives, adzes, wedges and mauls.... The most common adze type was the elbow adze used in the north and central regions [of the Northwest Pacific Coast]. The "elbow" in elbow adze refers to the crook of the haft and not its action in use.... The length and heft of the haft of an elbow adze determined the size of the blade and therefore the size of the chip.... A shaping elbow adze was used for the initial roughing and hollowing of the work. A finishing of surfacing elbow adze had the haft cut away so that the blade springs on impact, popping out the chip. 2, record 17, English, - elbow%20adze

Although the primary wall is permeable to water, it does not swell and prevents the fiber from swelling. Removal of the P-layer exposes the secondary wall and allows water to be absorbed into the molecular structure. The consequent loosening of the internal structure promotes fiber swelling and renders the fiber soft and flexible. This so-called "internal fibrillation" is generally regarded as the most important primary effect of refining following removal of the primary wall. For simple thickening of very dilute stocks up to 12% consistency, multidisc thickeners... can be used. A fiber mat forms on the face of each sector as it submerges in the vat of stock. After complete submergence, vacuum is applied and more pulp is deposited while filtrate is drawn through the mat. The initial filtrate is relatively cloudy and can be segregated(by the action of the end valve) for dilution uses. The later(clear) filtrate is sufficiently free of fiber to be used for shower water. Following emergence from the vat, the pulp mat is further dewatered and finally removed from the filter media by a knockoff shower. Multidisc thickeners are most commonly used as save all devices, i. e., to recover fine fibers from white water and reuse the water. 1, record 34, English, - multidisc%20thickener

The experience of grasping a part. It includes everything from the cognitive understanding of the situation, to the mechanical interaction with the part. In our definition, prehension includes all the processes between the initial desire and the final finished function. For example, the desire begins with a wish to drink coffee. Then, based on experience a grip is chosen, the hand moves to the cup, manipulation occurs, drinking is performed, and the cup is set down again. Thus prehension is more then just the gripping action itself; it involves the complete thought processes from the beginning to the end of the task. 1, record 36, English, - prehension
