Replacement of the retinal pigment epithelium(RPE) is emerging as a promising approach to treat degenerative retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration and Stargardt disease, in which RPE function cannot otherwise be restored. Despite the limitations of existing treatments, advances in cell sourcing and surgical methods have enabled initial human trials of RPE transplantation, with early results indicating potential efficacy. 4, record 1, English, - retinal%20pigmented%20epithelium%20transplantation

Androgen-binding protein(ABP) is synthesized by the Sertoli cell in the testis, where ~80% is secreted into the luminal fluid and the other ~20% is secreted into the interstitial compartment and taken up into the systemic circulation. ABP binds testosterone and transports it in the seminiferous tubule fluid to the epididymis, where it is taken up by a receptor-mediated process into the principal cells of the initial segment and caput epididymis. Once released from ABP, the testosterone is converted to [dihydrotestosterone](DHT) by the epithelial 5α-reductase. ABP is very similar in structure to sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG), which is synthesized in the liver and binds testosterone in the peripheral blood. ABP has been identified in rat, dog, monkey, and human. 1, record 3, English, - androgen%2Dbinding%20protein

The Canadian Forces Electronic Warfare Centre(CFEWC) exists to deliver comprehensive EW support to CF military operations. CFEWC is endeavouring to be the expert authority on technical EW matters within the Canadian Forces. In 1990, the Electronic Warfare Operational Support Centre(EWOSC) project was initiated with the intent of consolidating operational, intelligence and engineering support to the CF EW community. Under the initial phase of the EWOSC project(IEWOSC), a centralized CF EW database was created, the environmental integrated support stations were established, EW threat analysis was begun and a common logistics and administrative support cell was stood up. The Canadian Forces Electronic Warfare Centre(CFEWC) was established to encompass these capabilities within facilities constructed at the Communication Research Canada(CRC)-Shirley's Bay Campus. The initial construction was completed in 1994. CFEWC is mandated with the maintenance and development of the CF Electronic Warfare Database(CFEWDB). 1, record 8, English, - Canadian%20Forces%20Electronic%20Warfare%20Centre

3, record 13, French, - stade%20cumulus

Selectines facilitate the initial adhesion of leukocytes on the surface of vascular endothelium. This initial adhesion is considered to be the first step in the development of the atherosclerotic plaque. Adhered leukocytes migrate into the subendothelial space and form the so-called "foam" cells at a later stage. Three different selectine molecule have been identified : L-selectine is expressed on the leucocyte membrane, E-selectine is expressed on the "activated" endothelial cell membrane and P-selectine is expressed on both platelet and "activated" endothelial cell surface. P-selectine seems to play a role in the development of acute coronary syndromes. Increased serum levels of P-selectine have been found in both acute myocardial infarction and unstable angina. 1, record 17, English, - P%2Dselectine

On initial contact with antigen, the T cell undergoes clonal proliferation and differentiates into sensitized lymphocytes or committed T cells with various functions. Some cells become activated and are responsible for mediating cellular immunity or resulting in injury to host tissue(hypersensitivity reactions). Others become T memory cells, thereby increasing the number of cells with the ability to react to specific antigen.
